roadrunner: Fulfilling Today's Objectives: Tucson Roadrunner Camo - 01/30/10 07:43 AM
He doesn't look anything like his cartoon counterpart. He doesn't say "Meep Meep!" Instead of running away, he follows the coyote around from time to time, knowing that the coyote is likely to stir up a meal or two. This roadrunner is totally aware of his surroundings, and knows how to hide in plain sight in order to accomplish his dual objectives: survival and a meal. Funny thing: those are my two objectives this morning! ___________________ I'm Mike in Tucson, your preferred Tucson Mortgage Lender. roadrunner: A Day At The Beach, Tucson Roadrunner Style - 01/19/10 06:19 AM
Okay, so Arizona doesn't have much beachfront. Not yet, anyhow... The chilly (45 degree) early morning air had this roadrunner sunning herself just to warm up! Turning her back to the rising sun, she exposes her dark undercoat to soak up the rays. It's an important part of her morning ritual, since breakfast can fight back! Here's the menu: rattlesnake scorpion tarantula lizard She's got to be all limber and warmed up to survive her meal! Not to worry, though. Lunch will be served on the golf course. It's a good life here in Tucson. Plan to visit soon! ___________________

roadrunner: Photo of the Week: The Roadrunner & The Lizard - 08/22/09 11:06 AM
In the cartoons on Saturday morning, it's the Coyote who chases the Roadrunner, but ends up hungry. "Meep! Meep!" In the desert southwest that's my back yard, I often see both the coyote and the roadrunner within yards of each other, both intent on a meal, but neither hunting the other. The roadrunner, in its hunt for prey, will often "put up" a rabbit in which it has no interest. The coyote has learned this, and uses that knowledge to his benefit. Aren't you glad you don't subsist on snakes, lizards, scorpions and spiders? No matter what "lizard" you're hunting

roadrunner: It's Not What You Have... It's WHAT YOU DO WITH WHAT YOU HAVE That Makes the Difference - 04/24/08 10:31 PM
This photo is the perfect example of that! This is GARBAGE! And it's wonderful! I ran into an acquaintance who hasn't seen me for more than six months. She looked sort of sorrowful as she asked "Oh. How have you been doing in this awful market? I know it must be a struggle. Everything I read is SO bad!" "I am SO glad to be in the lending business right now!" I replied. "You know what they say about making lemonade if all you have is lemons? That's what it's like right now. And the lemonade that I have is selling. People must
