The 5 rules of Happiness - 09/28/10 11:10 PM
The 5 Rules Of Happiness: If you like something, enjoy it. If you don't like something, avoid it. If you don't like something and can't avoid it, change it. If you can't or choose not to avoid or change something you don't like, then accept it. You accept something by changing your perception of it. Sounds pretty simple right? I agree too, but you'd be surprised at how fast most people forget these 5 simple rules when faced with a difficult situation. So next time you find yourself in an unhappy or stressful situation, run through these 5 rules in your (34 comments)
Nature's beauty - 09/23/10 02:58 PM
I just love nature and all the beauty that God created. So many times in our life we don't take time to appreciate all the beauty in our world. Be sure to take time each day to enjoy the free gifts we are all given each day to enjoy. It will help to give you such peace and serenity.
There is a special place that needs my special skill A certain job I am meant to do that no one else can fill The hours may be demanding and the pay will not make me rich And yet I wouldn't change it for a moment if I could There is a special place in life. A goal I must attain A dream I must follow for I won't be back again There is a mark I must leave, however small it might be A legacy of love, for those who follow after me There is a special place in (12 comments)
Five important lessons on how to treat people - 09/17/10 10:50 PM
1. First Important Lesson - Cleaning Lady. During my second month of college, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student & had breezed through the questions until I read the LAST one "What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?" Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark haired and in her 50's, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank. Just before class ended, one student asked if the (63 comments)
The best GIFT - 09/15/10 06:51 PM
Many years ago I had a male friend(Paul) that I met at a place where he worked. He worked downstairs in a photo store and I worked upstairs in a frame shop. He was 9 yrs younger than me and I got to know all his brothers, his Mom and some of his friends when we went to church together. We talked a lot about God among other things. He was a good person and really my first male Christian friend. One of the memories that stick out in my mind is that as good of friends as we were he (21 comments)
Some knew about the red light on cars, but not the *112. It was about 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon, & Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car pulled up behind her and put his lights on. Lauren's parents have always told her never to pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road, but rather to wait until they get (9 comments)
What's in your sponge - 09/13/10 08:26 AM
There are five sponges lying in your laundry tub. For once every member of your family has been helping to clean up different areas of your home. All the sponges look the same. You are curious as to where everyone cleaned but you can't tell by looking - they all look the same. Anyway, now it's time to clean up and put it all away! You squeeze each sponge to clean it. As you squeeze the first sponge, you see breadcrumbs so you decide that someone cleaned the kitchen with that one. When you squeeze the second sponge, you (10 comments)
Every special person who touches our life,Leaves their own unique mark on our heart.A mark which can never be chizzled away,Even if the years eventually pull us apart. We can take on their expressions and such,The more we share of ourselves together. It's those little things about another person,Which can remain a part in us forever.People who we have met throughout our life,Become a part of the person who we are today. We learn and we grow from the relationships; Each one touching us, in it's own special way.We laugh about spending too much time together,When we think we have become like each other. But (13 comments)
