The house of Versace is designing interiors for a Manhattan landmark currently undergoing renovations and a condo conversion.
One Madison Avenue, the former Met Life Clocktower building near Madison Square Park, will be converted to residential condominiums

The Italian design house has been hired to do interior design work on the Clock Tower in the Flatiron District.Erected as the tallest building in the world in 1909, a title it kept for four years until the Woolworth Building at 233 Broadway was completed.The renovations include 55 condominium apartments, common areas and a spa. New York City released new renderings of The High Line. The High Line park is being built atop the former elevated train track transforming 22 blocks into an open park.

Empire State Development Corporation has adopted the Columbia University General Project Plan and authorized a public hearing for the university's proposed West Harlem expansion.The state agency declared the 17-acre expansion footprint as blighted, a necessary step before using eminent domain. Fewer Foreclosures in New York than Elsewhere - 07/09/08 08:54 AM
According to a new study by the metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and Freddie Mac, New York is bucking the national foreclosure trend.
The state's numbers dropped compared to last year, and New York City was the second- least foreclosed-on city in the first quarter, just below Boston with 53 foreclosures for every 10,000 properties.

2Q-08 Manhattan Market Report: Buyer's Market - 07/02/08 09:46 PM
Manhattan market reports were released today from Miller Samuel, and major Manhattan brokerages.
Sales of coops and condos fell 21.8% compared to same quarter last year. Inventory rose 31.2% but the median sale price rose 14.5% Sale prices were down 3.1% from the previous quarter.
The market reports have been much anticipated by brokers. The data only confirms what we've been seeing in the market. I found out the reports were released when Glenn Roberts from Inman news contacted me to talk about the Manhattan market and trends.
