listing: What is the worst thing to do to keep your home from selling? - 10/31/07 10:28 PM

I was inspired from a blog about the top ten things to do to not sell your home. Each one made me laugh. It is funny because of how unbelievable true it is. We tell people to keep their home clean. They have it trashed and wonder why buyer's aren't interested. We advise them to change the carpet. The leave it in hopes someone can see past the stains and wear. Then they complain when after many showings they haven't gotten a single offer.

Most agents will tell you the Holidays is the time of year when it is the hardest to sell your home. Some people even suggest taking your home off the market if you are not in a must-sell situation. Here are some of my thoughts on "Selling your home over the Holidays".

I had an argument with an acquaintance today. He explained to me that his home was on the market and asked me for a "professional" opinion. He continued to go into specifics. As I pretended to pay close attention to each detail I collected my breath as I started into my one word answer to his (and everyone else's) problem.
