Simpson University music department presents the Sinfonia Orchestra Spring Concert to be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 7:30 in the evening, in the McLaughlin Auditorium at Sequoia Middle School. Directed by Dr. Dwayne Corbin, the orchestra will perform Peter Ilich Tachaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet: Overture Fantasy and Richard Wagner's Symphony in C. Additionally, the concert will showcase the talents of two music students who recently won Simpson's Concerto contest. Brenda Rhoads, will sing Mozart's Laudamus Te from Mass in C minor, K. 427, and Allee Manes will perform Celile Chaminade's Concertino for Flute and Orchestra. March 20, 2010

An idea has been brewing for quite some time in the mind of Valerie Ing-Miller of Jefferson Public Radio, she's teamed up with the Cascade Theatre to create a "Dinner and a Movie Night" for every Wednesday in January. The idea here is that people would get out and have fun while putting our beautiful Cascade Theater to use during the week. The twist? Cooking demonstration on stage at the end of the show!
