business talk: Redding CA Local News - 08/20/08 01:58 PM
Look for these daily newsbrief right here on Blogging About Redding: • Houses in Redding are becoming more and more affordable. This is due in part to the high number of foreclosed properties and those in a short-sale (or pre-foreclosure) status. Last summer the housing affordability in Redding was about 23%, this summer the affordability index rose to 36%. This is more in line on what we call a "healthy real estate market". Our local people should be able to afford buying instead of renting. • The opening of Trader Joesin Redding CA has been pushed back to 2009. We were anticipating

business talk: The Return of Granzellas II - 08/12/08 10:10 PM
No, it's not a movie but it sure sounds like one. It's actually more exciting than a movie, it is the reopening of Grazellas, a cherished restaurant many of us have grown to love over the years! Located in Colusa County (the town of Williams), a little less than two hours South of Redding, lies this Italian-Americano restaurant named "Granzellas". Granzellas has been serving travelers since 1976, so the news that it had burned down

business talk: Support Our Local Businesses - 04/17/08 11:16 PM
Bridge Bucks Campaign...supporting our community! It's a headache getting anywhere close to the Cypress Bridge. This is about the only area I try to avoid between the hours of 8am-10am and 4pm-6pm. But rather than complaining about the traffic and congestion, we need to remember that in the long run this will be a GREAT thing for our city. We will all benefit from this expansion and will be glad once it's over. In the meantime, we can't forget about the local business that are affected by the Cypress Bridge Construction. Our patronage and support is now more than ever necessary.

business talk: Redding CA - Business of the Month - 12/20/07 05:45 PM
This month we celebrate Christmas with "The Cookie Jar" team! We've had the pleasure of enjoying these delicious cookies given that our office is only a couple doors down from them (that can be a good thing and bad thing too). The aroma of freshly baked cookies calls us in...it's hard to pass by their shop and ignore that they're there. You wouldn't blame us a bit if you knew how good these cookies taste, they're just not your ordinary cookies. Jeff and Shirley (owners) took over the business in January 2007 and these two have been super busy since. Shirley's two sisters Patty & Mary also work
