Fifteen public playgrounds across Shasta County have been developed especially for young children under five years old. The playgrounds are funded by First 5 Shastaand feature age-appropriate play equipment and a safe place for youngsters to explore, develop new skills and get the wiggles out. Winter (October-April) provides the most precipitation of any season in Redding-the weather tends to be either rainy or foggy and snow does occur at times.
