For the 30 Days ending 7/15/2009-8/15/2009, 33 properties closed in Cornelius, NC in areas covering 1 & 13. The average Days on the Market were a little over half a year or 192 days. The average asking price was $589,230 but the average selling price was 94% of asking price or $526,822. A good majority of the homes were on the area 1 side of Cornelius and the large average pricing was due to the fact that a few homes over $1 million dollars closed on the 13 side of Cornelius.

Maybe it is the Upstate NY girl in me, maybe it is the fact I love Dilworth...but, why oh why must any of the old houses on Catawba Avenue in Cornelius go Commercial? The latest is a listing for 4 old homes and1.5 acres of land combined for a whopping $2 Million Dollar Price Tag...Good Luck Why Not Try and sell these homes as SFR to people who would love to restore tham and preserve a little of what Cornelius is on that side of Catawba Avenue?

Lake Norman
Cowans Ford Dam created the largest manmade body of fresh water in North Carolina when it dammed the Catawba River in 1963. The total length of the facility is 7,387 feet, including more than a mile of earthen dam. The concrete portion of the dam is 1,279 feet long and 130 feet high.
Lake Norman is an "inland sea" with 520 miles of shoreline and a surface area of more than 32,475 acres. Named after former Duke Power president Norman Cocke, Lake Norman is nearly as large as the other ten lakes on the Catawba combined.
