You are always told in Real Estate as an Agent..." it's not about you"... so it's a hard thing to do to SHUT YOUR MOUTH when your buyers want to buy in a Neighborhood or Community that you know...THEY WILL NEVER RESALE OR GAIN EQUITY...I say never, ok...if they plan on staying there 15 years...MAYBE...

The short sale agent handles complex negotiations with the bank. If the agent has no experience dealing with loss mitigation and negotiators, the seller is the person who may suffer. Short sales require a ton of work and mortgage knowledge. This is far from the regular Real Estate transaction...whom you choose to represent you will make the difference in getting the deal done or possibly foreclosing. For the record, I am a REGULAR RE Agent(not just distressed sales people), I love homes that have plenty of Equity in them and that willing Sellers call me to list...except for 1 thing...I don't see alot of those selling right now...I have seen easily 15-20% of "NORMAL" listings turn to Preforeclosures, some of these homes, the Sellers never even mentioned it to their Realtors...until 2 months prior to foreclsoure when my Short Sale team was called in to help...
I again will love the days that I get to bring a "NORMAL SALE" to closing, with no arguments, no biting fingernails … (6 comments)

You don't have a be a good agent at EVERYTHING...and let me explain, Sometimes agents that have "BEEN IN THE BUSINESS" for a long time tend to think they can handle it all...new buyers, retiring buyer, All Re-Sales, New Construction, High-end Luxury...and MAYBE SO...BUT;
If you don't have the know-how, the patience, the neverending NEGOTIATING skills(bank to bank and back to seller), if you don't want to become a Mortgage Underwriter...
SHORT SALES AREN'T FOR YOU....
