So What's Up with the Missoula Real Estate Market? National reports show that the real estate market is improving. The National Association of Realtors just reported that home sales rose in 3.6% June, marking five consecutive months of improvement for the first time since 2003. 
While things are heading the right way on a national level, all real estate markets are local. The Missoula Real Estate Market is no different.

The Rattlesnake area of Missoula is a favorite of many Missoulians due to its close proximity to recreation, the University of Montana, and Missoula's downtown. The neighborhood borders the Rattlesnake National Recreational Area on the north, a 60,000 acre wilderness, ideal for hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and camping.
The Rattlesnake neighborhood is broken into two areas - the Lower Rattlesnake and the Upper Rattlesnake.

The Missoula Real Estate market enjoyed a burst of activity in late February and early March with a flurry of buyers and many new homes going under contract.
Missoula has also been fortunate that our housing prices have held their value better than many areas of the country. In February, the Median Home Price actually increased significantly from 2008 and the number of sales in the Missoula Urban Area was almost the same.
