river: Kayak in Downtown Missoula at Brennan's Wave on the Clark Fork River - 07/09/09 06:54 PM
Kayak in Downtown Missoula at Brennan's Wave on the Clark Fork River
A great place to visit in Missoula is Brennan's Wave which is located downtown, next to Caras Park on the Clark Fork River.
We spent some time at Brennan's Wave last weekend, after visiting the local farmer's markets, and had a great time watching the action.
Brennan's Wave was developed in 2006 and was named for Brennan Guth, a local kayaking legend. It's level two rapids are great for local kayakers to practice their sport, and are also used to help train search and rescue personnel.
Brennan's Wave replaced an … (0 comments)

river: Enjoy a Stroll on Missoula Montana's Riverfront Walking Tour & Recreational Area - 01/18/09 06:35 PM
One of my favorite things to do on a warm day is to take a walk on Missoula's Riverfront Trail.
The trail runs along the Clark Fork River through the heart of downtown and goes East to the University and West to Orange Street.
From this trail, you can see Missoula's amazing scenery, historic buildings, and enjoy the lifestyle that bring people to Montana.
The trail is wide enough for both walking your dog or bicycling. It is marked along the way with ten plaques on stone pillars to help you identify some of Missoula's important historical & geological features, including:

Missoula, Montana is one of the most beautiful cities in the Northwest. And yes, a river does run through it. Missoula is located near the three rivers to be exact, The Clark Fork River, The Blackfoot River, and The Bitterroot River.

river: Montana is Renowned for Its Blue Ribbon Fishing - Welcome Fly Fishers! - 01/31/08 08:57 PM
Montana is renowned not just for its "blue ribbon" fishing, but for our entire outdoor experience. In Montana, you can fish year-round, but there are seasonal regulations and water conditions that affect fishing. In general, lakes and larger rivers are open to fishing all year, while smaller tributaries are closed in the winter. Even though spring run-off makes many freestone rivers high and muddy from May until late June, anglers still enjoy good fishing on tailwater fisheries, spring creeks, and some smaller streams. Fly fishers will find most waters in prime condition from late June through October, although March and April … (0 comments)
