One of our favorite holidays (Thanksgiving, with much to be thankful about in 2018) leads directly into one of our favorite Door County festivals, Sister Bay's "Capture the Spirit" celebration in preparation of the upcoming December and January holidays.

SISTER BAY, WISCONSIN'S CAPTURE THE SPIRIT CELEBRATION
It's the holiday season in Door County, and while we give thanks today, we begin the countdown to the holidays that have meaning for us in December.
This weekend Sister Bay hosts Capture the Spirit of a Door County Christmas. This is one of my FAVORITE HOLIDAY EVENTS of the year.

One of my favorite places, Liberty Grove, Wisconsin held its community tree lighting in downtown Ellison Bay a few weeks ago (followed by a free community chili dinner that is always well attended), and this weekend ushers in not only the Thanksgiving holiday (and I am so thankful for this year), but also one of my very favorite holiday season events, Capture the Spirit of a Door County Christmas in Sister Bay, Wisconsin.

Wind and Waves: The Gales of November in Sister Bay, Wisconsin 54234
We've been concentrating on Sister Bay properties in the past week in preparation for the Capture the Spirit of a Door County Christmas celebration next week in Sister Bay, including the special holiday events at The Country Walk Shops, but today was a SHOW-STOPPER in Sister Bay. We had winds at 35-40 miles per hour today, which made me so thankful for WARMTH. Walking a property with a client today was almost painful, in spite of bundling up.

Every Door County community has its own special holiday event, and I try to attend as many as I can. However, since the mid 2000s, one of my favorites has been Sister Bay's Capture the Spirit of a Door County Christmas, which is held the weekend of Thanksgiving, with events on Friday the 25th and Saturday.

Door County Update: Sister Bay, WI Road Construction and downtown Village Improvements commence. Sister Bay is still open for business! For the past five years, northern Door County (Sister Bay and Liberty Grove) has prepared for Department of Transportation road improvements to the Village of Sister Bay, Wisconsin.
These improvements will include improvements to the (steep) Sister Bay hill on Highway 42/57, storm water (sewer/gutter) improvements, sidewalks up the hill on the westerly side past St. Rosalia's Church, new street lights downtown, and many other changes to improve and enhance the Village's appeal and quality of life for residents and visitors. … (0 comments)
