How do you set yourself apart? - 09/28/07 09:20 PM
We staged a beautiful home this week. It has been on the market for 3 months as an owner occupied property. Due to a job transfer, the owners eventually had to move, leaving the home vacant. As beautiful as this property is, there are currently 14 homes for sale in this

Staging your way to a great Visual Tour..... - 09/28/07 09:08 PM
We completed a staging in Huger SC today. The property is new construction. Prior to staging the agents (who actually are friends of mine & have never used me for vacant properties) paid for a visual tour. Here is a link to that tour... http://www.visualtour.com/shownp.asp?sk=16&t=1225069Tonight, after staging, I completed a RES.

Ok, I wasn't prospecting tonight.... though I do have a property that I'm staging by October 17th that is currently listed for $3.1 M & nearing the completion of construction. This particular agent is savvy & knows that on the Isle of Palms there is currently 8 years worth of inventory

The power of a Consultation... - 09/23/07 12:24 PM
I recently had one of my great client/agents refer me to another agent for a home that needed a little help. I provided them with a written consultation & then did 2 follow up walkthroughs to tweek some final changes. The homeowners weren't originally sold on the idea of staging, but

So, you think you want to stage vacant homes? Thoughts on inventory.... - 09/22/07 02:47 PM
Ok, most of you know that I own the bulk of the inventory that I stage with. There are pros & there are cons. I thought as one who has a significant amount, I would give a little snapshot. I'm hoping that others who have a lot will chime in as

And the results are in... Design Star Winner.... (Spoiler Alert!) - 09/16/07 09:25 PM
The design star winner is Kim.... I voted for her, so I'm very happy. I thought Todd was absolutely a great sport stepping away giving her the stage. What a man! I really enjoyed this last season, but would have enjoyed seeing more individual challenges and less group challenges. Now I'm

A Correction in the Rain... Williams Sonoma Trade Discount - 09/07/07 06:50 PM
Apparently I was incorrect in my earlier Blog (which I have since deleted) when I listed a form for the Williams Sonoma Trade Discount. I upset a few members of AR & the organization that I had received the heads up from. Apparently they worked long and hard to be recongnized by this organization

Calling Website designers, let's see what you've got - 09/06/07 05:10 PM
I currently have two websites, www.RedesigningCharleston.com and www.StagingAndRedesign.com. At the beginning of the year my company will be undergoing some changes and I would like the websites to reflect these changes. With that said, any web designers out there who would be interested in bidding for the renovation and maintanance of

Liquid Equity... upgrading the master bath - 09/01/07 08:34 PM
Liquid Equity = Paint.... Possibly the simplest way to update and upgrade a bathroom. Check out what some primer, a quart of paint & a few simple accessories can do. In today's market, would this make a difference turning a showing into a sale? (I wish I had shut the closet door for
