staging: The only one in this neighborhood.... Are you taking notes? - 01/14/08 01:55 PM
Grassy Creek in Mt. Pleasant is a great little neighborhood. The homes are well built and attractive. There is an active community association and plenty of amenities. In September, an agent for one of sellers in this community contacted us. The seller was moving, the home was now going to be vacant.

staging: RESA Announces Rookie of the Year Winner - Mt Pleasant's Bevin Googer! - 01/13/08 09:43 PM
I met Bevin a year and a half ago on a staging consultation. (She was the agent.) We talked for a long time about my job and that I was going to begin training stagers in Summerville. She was very excited and after several phone calls and lunches she left real

Ok, by now all of you should know I'm not a run in fear kind of girl so it is going to be the latter of the two choices. I would like to give you a heads up on something that is going on in my area. I think we'll start

staging: $10,000 price reductions & 6 mos on market... why not move the cable instead? - 10/07/07 08:42 AM
Staging for all its glory is really about cutting through the daily life & order of things and finding ways to best represent the home for today's buyer. I am regularly surprised at the lengths some clients will go through to get the job done & then more surprised by others

staging: Do linens make a difference? - 09/02/07 06:37 PM
I often advise clients the importance of having nice linens on the bed rather than old worn out, or mismatched sets. This is one of the things that they often decide is unimportant despite the rather small cash outlay. I personally enjoy having beautiful linens on my bed with high threadcounts

staging: Liquid Equity... upgrading the master bath - 09/01/07 08:34 PM
Liquid Equity = Paint.... Possibly the simplest way to update and upgrade a bathroom. Check out what some primer, a quart of paint & a few simple accessories can do. In today's market, would this make a difference turning a showing into a sale? (I wish I had shut the closet door for

staging: Move in Service for service after the sale.... - 07/20/07 09:02 AM
This week my team (3 of us) spent 3 days helping an elderly woman move into her newly purchased home. We were fortunate that we could look at her previous home to get an idea of how she enjoys her environment. Her style is clearly Victorian and she LOVES things, art on the walls

staging: Move In Service - Another way to help Realtors & New Homeowners - 07/10/07 07:42 PM
Realtors are beginning to understand that staged homes sell faster & for more money than unstaged. What they may not realize is that most professional stagers can be of further service to their business than just closing the deal! Many GOOD realtors look for memorable ways of giving something back to

staging: 20/20 Says Agents Sell their homes for more than their sellers.... - 06/23/07 02:23 PM
I had to record this show last night as I was busy with other things. I was intrigued by the comment of one of those interviewed praising the FSBO practice & saying that agents don't have their sellers interest at heart. They cited research that claims agents sell their homes for

staging: Staging Small Spaces - Eliminating Obstacles - 06/22/07 03:40 PM
Today I staged a space that had some real challenges. The unit was a decent size for downtown, but it was 3 floors, each with only one room. The issue? I disagreed with the agent/owner as to how the unit should be promoted. In the end, the client won - it's

staging: If you buy it, it will stage - 04/01/07 06:21 PM
I have to thank Mary Seferian for the quote. When discussing whether to buy furniture for some upcoming jobs or turn them down I posted my philosophy, which she so elequantly recited, "If you buy it, it will stage". Yes! While it is a recantation from Field Of Dreams I still

staging: MLS Photos - 01/30/07 06:36 PM
The market has started picking up pace now that the holiday season is over. Even with the change in market, there are significantly more listings than this time in 2005 when sellers were presented with multiple offers within the week. So, how do you bring buyers to your clients' doors? MLS
