Are you actually expecting to read about a house made of gold? I hope not, but lately we are being bombarded with advertisements telling us to invest in gold. Gold has never been higher, they say, over the past 10 years gold value has grown tremendously. So maybe this is really time to sell gold. Why on earth would anyone want to buy at the top of any market. Isn't the object to buy low and sell high.
Speaking of buying low, there isn't a better time to take the money they are telling you to invest in gold and buying real estate. Think about it, real estate prices are about as low as they are going to go, and interest rates can't get much better. While real estate is likely to go up from here. Will gold continue to climb?

Located in Cool Springs, TN, this is a great restaurant. They have a simple menu featuring Chicken. Chicken Tenders, batter dipped or grilled, Chicken wings, a signature Chicken Sandwich, The Cajun Love Sandwich, you will find something to delight your palette if you are looking for Chicken. I have eaten there several times and have enjoyed it each and every time. Prices are moderate. The service is excellent. Be sure to arrive early as the place packs them in for lunch. They do move the traffic through so if you do have to wait it will not be for long. Enjoy.

Brentwood TN January Market Report
The chart below represents the Listings and Home Sales for January 2010.
Brentwood spans the border of Davidson and Williamson Counties. The chart below represents both counties of Brentwood sales and listings. What I find very encouraging is the combined 46 sales and pending in the luxury market between $500,000 and $1 Million (20% of the total listed in those groups).
Data for closed sales for January 2009 is below the chart. The great story in the January 2010 chart is the great numbers for pending sales.
Brentwood Home Sales for January 2009 were 19 condos sold; Single family homes under $300,000 - 4; between $300,000 to $500,000 - 11 ; between $500,000 and $700,000 - 3; $700,000 to 1 million - 5; and over 1 million dollars 2.

If you are a renter out there you may have already been taken-in by the rental property "too good to be true" SCAM. You may have either sent a certified check of a modest amount as a deposit to hold a house for you. Or you were directed to a website that appeared to be a valid credit company to print your credit report but found yourself sending them your credit card information and social security number.
I wrote a post months ago and reposted it this week after a second victim within a couple of days emailed me and asked what to do. I realized that although I warned people about the scam, I never suggested what to do once they get scammed. Unfortunately it is mostly after the scam takes place that people realize they have been victimized.
Although I am not sure what exactly to do, if I were you I would:
- Immediately call and report it to your credit card company and cancel that card.
- If you gave them your social security number you might want to look into identity theft company/protection. Though I haven't heard of them using the social security number, if you gave it to them you are vunerable
- Report the ad to Cragslist to help out the next person from getting scammed
Active Rainers, I am at a loss to suggest further action, your suggestions are welcome and needed.
