Simpler Times - Main Street Neighborhoods - 09/27/09 04:23 PM
Speaking of simpler times, on my children's recent return trip to their old neighborhood in Syracuse, NY, they visited the house they grew up in. The house was close to 100 years old at the time and they have fond memories of the house, the neighborhood and their childhood in general. I am writing about this thinking about that is the recreating of these types neighborhoods and the desire to return to a simpler time that keep some of them selling so well. What was it about this neighborhood that we lost when we moved to suburbia? Front porches that we sat (4 comments)
Simpler Times - Speechless Sunday - 09/27/09 02:11 PM
Four of the crew in the canoe are my kids. The location is Oneida Lake in Upstate NY. It is my neighbor's canoe and that is him Nate holding the rope. The kids now all in their 20's and 30's all still speak fondly of those summers on the lake with their friends and old Nate who has since passed on in peace. (1 comments)

Homes built from the 1980's line many of the holes but far enough away to deter all but the most errant shots. The community has single family homes, townhouses and is now developing luxury homes on the back 9 of this 27 hole layout. Temple Hills (3 comments)

Speechless Sunday - The Eyes Have It - 09/20/09 11:00 AM
The eyes have it. How can anyone not fall immediately in love when a baby gazes at you with eyes so totally trusting. Being a grandparent is to date perhaps not my highest calling, but certainly my best. Watching this little guy grow and learn as his parents learn about unconditional love is so very good for my heart. (4 comments)

It isn't Wordless Wednesday ot Speechless Sunday but here are a couple of photos of the oldest and the youngest in the Nastri family tree.
