Nashville Area News Just Keeps Getting Better both in jobs and housing.  One would argue that the two are directly related and would be correct.  But in two unrelated stories out today The Tennessean announced that with the ratification of a new labor agreement between GM and the UAW vehicles may roll off the idled Spring Hill assembly line.  The old Saturn facility now producing Chevy engines may soon also be assembling the Chevy Equinox SUV,  Estimates of up to 2000 new and furloughed workers may soon be working again in Spring Hill Tennessee.  This will be a boon to the Spring … (3 comments)

We are betting on it. Temporarily in the Sand but Forever in our Hearts - 9/11 Sand Sculpture - 09/12/11 09:53 AM
The end of August we had the chance to attend the New York State Fair while visiting my family in Syracuse.  I was blown away by the detail in this sand sculpture commemoration the Heroes of 9/11.  It was near completion here and I did not have the chance to return to see the finished work.  
Thanks to the sculpture Patrick Harsch who uses his time and talent in a medium which only has permanence is in our memories and photos taken.  The 10th anniversary remembrance of 9/11 was present through-out the NY State Fair.  Check out the video for … (5 comments)

Nashville Tennessee proves that all real estate is local. While the national news is still painting a dim picture, here in Middle Tennessee (Nashville) things aren't looking so bad.  
One only has to pick up the local paper to prove this point. While headlines (right) are all from today's newspaper (The Tennessean). You can see the first is great news, for Nashville area. The second is interest rates are at a low not seen since 1951.  But the third says overall the national housing market is not so optimistic.
