Tax Bill Scam - Be Careful - 01/30/09 12:43 AM
We received a warning today from the Sacramento County Assessor's office about a tax bill scam that seems to have hit the Sacramento area recently.  Apparently a southern California company is sending out notices that promise property tax savings if the property owner pays $95 for a service that the County of Sacramento provides for free.  The notices that this southern California company are sending out, look like tax bills, but they are not!  Beware of them!

It seems like I am asked daily lately, where did our buyer's market go?  Is it still a buyer's market?  Or is this market in Elk Grove now a seller's market?
We have seen more SOLD signs!  We have had more home sales occuring in the past few months and inventory holding steady in the Sacramento region.  California Association of Realtors recently reported that sales of single family detached resale homes have skyrocketed to 84.9 percent in December 2008 compared to December 2007.

Countrywide's Government Financing Seminar - 01/17/09 08:26 PM
Yesterday, I attended Countrywide Home Loans' seminar for real estate agents regarding government financing or FHA/VA financing.  Although most of the information was not new to me, I did learn a few new things and wanted to pass on the information. 
In the past few months, FHA financing has been increasing among buyers.  Last month, 44% of the loans closed by Countrywide were FHA financing...this is way up from a year ago.  Loan limits have changed also for FHA -
2007 - FHA loan limit was $362,790                                                         
2008 - FHA loan limit rose to $580,000
