speechless sundays: Speechless Sunday - Sacramento's Electric Run - 04/21/13 10:43 PM

 
Last night was the first Electric Run in Sacramento CA.  There were about 10,000 people running and walking the 5K course that was set up at Cal Expo in Sacramento.  We had a great time with a small team from Keller Williams Realty Elk Grove.   We saw a lot of crazy outfits and a lot of people having a great time running.  Watch a quick video to see more of the Electric Run.

Happy Earth Day!  Today, April 22nd is a great reminder that we need to treat the earth each and every day with respect and admiration.  This photo was taken by my daughter, Nicolette Clark in the hills of Tuscany, Italy. 
Earth Day was started in 1970 as a day of education about environmental issues.  It has now turned into a global holiday in which we celebrate mother nature while being aware of the effects we have on our environment.

I had a great day in San Francisco yesterday helping my oldest daughter with her first wedding of the year!  I have always loved my visits to San Francisco and this day was no exception!  For a winter day, we could not have asked for better weather and it was so incredible watching my daughter work on the streets of San Francisco by the Academy of Arts!  People walking down the street offered their congratulations to the bride and groom and enjoyed watching the photo session!

speechless sundays: Speechless Sunday - Amador County wine tasting - 09/11/11 11:14 AM

We had a great day celebrating my daughter's 21st birthday by taking a limo to Amador County and going wine tasting.  Amador County is in the heart of the Sierra Foothills and is now home to over 40 wineries producing zinfandels, syrahs, barberas as well as many other great wines.  It took about 45 minutes from our front door to the first winery, so it makes a great outing for the day, and it is not nearly as crowded as the Napa area.

This past week, instead of selling real estate in Elk Grove, CA,  I spent the week vacationing in Santa Cruz, CA.  We go every year for the 4th of July week and have for over 30 years now...I find it relaxing and very enjoyable.  It feels almost like going home each year and yet I always find new advertures to keep my family entertained.  This year it was paddle boarding in the Santa Cruz harbor and whale watching on the Stagnaro's whale watching cruise going out of the harbor.  Once again we had a great time!

I have lived in California my whole life - over 50 years - and had never seen Yosemite National Park except in pictures until this weekend.  It's beautiful.  Having lived just 3 hours from it for my whole life, I have a hard time believing I have never visited it before.  If you get a chance, don't miss it.  I had an incredible day at Glacier Point, Bridalveil Falls, and Yosemite Valley.  I can't wait to go back and hike instead of just being a sightseer.  It is truly breathtaking....

Last year on Mother's Day I was in Amalfi, Italy with both of my daughters.  Amalfi is so beautiful and I had such an incredible time that I could not help but reflect back on it today.  If you are ever in Italy make sure to visit Amalfi and go by the Hotel Santa Cantarina, at least for brunch!  It's amazing.

One year ago today, I arrived in Florence, Italy for an incredible 3 week adverture!  I loved it and cannot wait to return.  Florence is a beautiful city and so full of life and history.  I am so blessed to have been able to travel with my family and see Florence, Venice, Amalfi, Rome and Montalcino.

It's Sunday morning and while relaxing and having coffee, my mind often drifts back to my trip last year to Italy....
It was such an incredible trip!  I was able to visit Florence, Venice, Amalfi, Rome and Montalcino with my daughters.  Venice was unbelievable!  I actually felt like I was on a movie set or something.  It doesn't seem real.  This is a photo taken from our boat as we were arriving in Venice.  If you want to get a good feel for Venice, watch the movie "The Tourist".

I have been on an incredible vacation for the past 2.5 weeks in Italy!  Coming home is not easy, as I loved it so much.  The history, the food, the wine and the people were great!  We visited Florence, Venice, Montalcino, Amalfi and Rome and had an unbelievable time.  Can't wait to plan the next adventure!
This is a view from our hotel room at the Hotel Santa Cantarina in Amalfi.  I think I took over 500 photos so I'm sure I will be sharing more over the coming weeks!

Today, we went to the IMAX Theatre in Downtown Sacramento to see Alice in Wonderland, but had to wait until the next showing because the one we planned to go to was sold out.  While we were waiting, we decided to go over to the California State Capitol.  It was a pleasure to walk around it and see all of the flowers blooming and the different trees.  It was such a gorgeous day and is such a beautiful park setting.  In all the years, I've lived in Sacramento (over 50 now) and all the times I've driven by the State … (5 comments)

speechless sundays: Speechless Sundays - Enjoying the new Sacramento Ice Rink - 11/30/09 12:42 AM

If you haven't had a chance to visit the new Sacramento Ice Rink in Midtown Sacramento, make sure to take a break and enjoy it.  It has moved to 20th between J and K Streets.  It's a little smaller but seems more quaint and I actually enjoyed it more.  The lights in the trees and the music made it a festive atmosphere and all of the restaurants and shops around made it a great evening. So take the family and go enjoy!

Today my daughter, Nicolette Mode Clark, is off photographing a wedding in San Francisco.  She has become such a gifted photographer and she really loves what she does.  She seems to have found her passion for life in photography.  Her wedding photographs always remind me what you can create when you really find your passion.  This photograph was taken in front of the IMAX Theatre in downtown Sacramento and is just an example of the unique areas she finds to capture the moment and spirit of the weddings.
