My first impression of Tacoma was not a particularly good one. I got this impression as a child coming to annual conventions with my parents at the Tacoma Dome. The area around the Tacoma Dome was about all I saw of Tacoma....industrial and in many cases seedy and a bit run down at the time. On April 8th I joined thousands of others around the country and went bare foot for the entire day for the One Day With Out Shoes campaign put on my toms shoes.

Yesterday I showed a home that was well with in walking distance of my own home and wrote an offer on it. In doing so and sharing more with the buyer, who had been using my listing finder service on our team website www.teammomentumrealestate.com ,I reaffirmed much of what I like about being in Fern Hill.

I have and continue to have some awesome teachers and I am thankful for the teachers that touch my children's lives as well. I hae one teacher in particular that I am thankful for, Mr. Dennis Stands my 6th grade teacher, who was the first peron outside my family who really believed in me and made me feel special.

I just had a new baby boy, a home birth, 8 weeks ago, I am home schooling my 4th grade daughter, My oldest son just started Middle school at a public Montessori school and my preschool aged daughter often keeps me busier in any given day than the other 3 combined. My husband was diagnosed as a diabetic about 5 years ago, but until very recently did nothing other than some times taking medication ( inconsistently) did little about it despite the whole family begging him to. I personally ate a diet closer to what I diabetic would want to than he did. So imagine my delight when he made a commitment to get his blood sugar under control and to eat a proper diet.

I am a firm believer that regardless of what happens good or bad that there are valuable lessons to be learned from everything. Well our rental home that just vacated is a good example.

We went on vacation last week and during part of it we were in Vancouver WA, visiting family while my husband worked down there. On one of the days I went and hung out with the kids @ Borders books and music.

Hey, just got done reading "Who Moved my Cheese" the book is very applicable to life, easy to read, ( I read the whole thing in well under 30 minutes, but of course I am a speed demon reader) I like the whole concept of the book and the story makes you remember the point so well. It's funny I always forget why it is I get less done in December than any other month of the year. I have this fuzzy memory as I approach the winter of the fact that the kids are home from school over half of the month, but child care can help iron that out.
I remember that fewer folks are shopping during the holidays.

In this market, there are a few things that will make you or break you in this current market. Bottom line is that everyone of us need to get back to basics. It's strange though that I see many agents not doing much other than complaining about the market.
What it really will take in this market is for us to be committed. Committed to our trade, committed to learning more (this is a knowledge based market) and commitment to our clients and committment to going back to basics and being very very consistent with it.
