realtor: ETHICS and the REALTOR Group - 01/13/08 12:27 AM
I've been spending time trying to clean up the posts in the Ethics and REALTOR Group...my fault totally as I've pretty well neglected the group.
I've been deleting posts that simply do not belong in the group but If I've deleted something you think belongs there please send me an e-mail about it and I'll re-look at it.
I thought of doing a group e-mail but my last one was not well received. So hence this post will have to serve.

realtor: Are you a REALATOR??? - 12/19/07 06:03 AM
okay, I'm gonna rant a little. I can't help it!
Jay and I spent the last two days doing bank owned showing marathons...cold houses, un-shoveled walkways never mind un-plowed driveways.
I always have mixed emotions when showing foreclosed homes... the houses just feel so sad. But thats not what my rant is about....Nope!
One house had signs all over it. The house has had showings...many of them and the listing agent has been in and out of the house.
How embarrassing!
I couldn't believe my eyes so I had to take a picture of it!
One of my biggest pet peeves is the mispronunciation … (53 comments)

realtor: Awaiting Moderation... - 12/02/07 05:11 AM
I've been traveling the blogosphere on a somewhat regular basis and one thing I've been paying attention to is the ease of being able to comment on other posts outside the Rain.
I figure Web 2.0 is all about communication...all about having a conversation.
I kind of feel funny when I take the time to draft a comment and post it only to get this message back "This comment is  awaiting moderation"
Okay, I get the fact that maybe some people might use foul language or be a spammer and maybe I'm just in the little league of bloggers but I can delete those … (31 comments)

realtor: NAR...Will they be looking at your digital pictures - 11/25/07 06:17 AM
Sometimes the best thing about the house is the picture...Is that not true?
At the NAR convention in Vegas I attended the professional standards forum and committee meeting where among other things we talked about digital enhancements to listing photos.
I am on my second 3 year term as a State Representative serving on the committee and as a blogger I've been particularly interested in all the proposed changes to Article 12.
In DC this past May we talked about Blogs and including them in the scope of Article 12.
All spring and summer members participated via e-mail...comments for and … (41 comments)

realtor: Victorian Holiday Tea...Brentwood NH - 11/03/07 12:50 PM
My good friend and fellow REALTOR Judy Tuscano is involved with the most incredible holiday event.
This event is held yearly and always sells out. Judy recently posted about this years upcoming event on her blog.
The annual Ladies Victorian Christmas Tea will  be held at Grace Ministries in Brentwood, NH  on Dec. 7.
If you live nearby or even far away and want to enjoy a special evening of memory making...think about buying a ticket before they sell out.
All proceeds go to a very good cause.
Last year I attended with my mom and my little sister Heidi. We stood in … (30 comments)

realtor: NH Quick Start Agent Training... - 11/03/07 03:29 AM
It's been a pretty exciting week for me. Not only did we have 2 closings but I taught an excellent 4 day class!!!
I taught the four day NH Quick Start Agent Training program. We had 16 REALTORS attending from all over NH and even Vermont. It really was the perfect size class for the workshop and location, especially since the room only holds twenty. This also allowed us plenty of space and time for group work and interaction.
Not only do we learn from the instructor but the sharing of information and experience from the participants is priceless. Particularly in this … (4 comments)

realtor: Spooky Thrills and Yummy Candy - 10/30/07 04:36 AM
I wish I was still a little kid because I absolutely love Halloween!
I love watching the little kids walk up the driveway...listening to them laugh in excitement.
I remember spending hours sorting through candy when my kids were little...sometimes sneaking my favorite pieces of candy out of their bags. LOL...sometimes I got caught doing it and my sons, Marty and Mikey would make a big deal out of mom stealing their precious candy.
I used to dress up to hand out candy...Scare all the kids who rang my doorbell. It was a blast!
I never worried about poison or bad people … (15 comments)

realtor: On-Line FEMA Map - 10/29/07 02:52 PM
This is pretty neat and not just for buyers and sellers but for agents as well.
Curious about where your property is in relation to the FEMA map? I’m not going to go out on a limb and say this is 100% accurate but it is pretty close.
Since this is the government FEMA site…if you are listed in a flood zone you’d be better off knowing about it now. Or maybe you want to look up that home you’re thinking about buying. In any case this is a cool tool and it’s free!
Check out the FEMA Maps online. You can zoom … (12 comments)

realtor: 110 posts and I didn't even know it!!! - 06/01/07 01:25 PM
Can I blow my own horn??
I passed 100 posts and never knew it! LOL I guess I was asleep at the wheel.  How exciting 110 posts in eight months!!!  Yippee!
Of course it's combined but it still counts...I hope anyway!   I'm sorry I don't have a special post to celebrate but I wanted to say that I truly love this place. As crazy as it gets at times. Dare I say that I don't get many featured :) posts (that was hard to type)...even combined but thats okay because I'm having a blast and learning so much just being here.

realtor: Why am I A REALTOR®... - 12/31/06 04:02 AM
Why am I a REALTOR®
I started thinking about this after reading a particularly negative  REALTOR®/NAR blog posted yesterday.
Anyway, why did I become a REALTOR®...well my broker told me I had to become one.  Very simple I had no choice.

So I did and I quickly became involved in the REALTOR® association and I saw the benefits of that association.  I like the fact that all REALTORS® have to abide by the same code of ethics...an even playing field, so to speak. I like the fact that I have a place to go to if I need help. I … (83 comments)

realtor: Let's Play Nice In The Sandbox - 12/13/06 08:03 AM
Today I taught or maybe I should say presented a workshop called REALTOR® Professional Guidelines.  This is a 3 hour continuing education credit course that I developed which is based on NAR's Pathway to Professionalism.  I refer to it as my "Let's Play Nice in the Sandbox" class!!!  New Hampshire requires 9 hours of ce (continuing education) to renew your real estate license.  So I know my attendees are not there because they want to listen to me speak but simply because they want the credit for their license re-newel and I'm the necessary evil standing between them and that goal.  … (22 comments)
