I used to call it my Kid Box. It started with diapers, crayons, bottled water, crayons and snacks. I kept it in my car and stocked it with anything I needed for long trips with the kids. It progressed to include notebook paper and pens for homework, lawn chairs and blankets for sports practices and games, extra goggles, sunscreen and towels for swim meets, trashbags (great for in a pinch ponchos, groundcloth, wrapping up those muddy cleats and of course trash) and finally no matter what age my kids were I had lots and lots of batteries! Are you glued to cable news lately? I am at times, it's like watching a train wreck. Yes, my husband and I have a 401K that is losing money just like many people right now. At times in the last two weeks I have turned off the TV and walked outside just to put my face into the sunshine and breath. We have good jobs, our health, our children are nearby and doing okay and we have a comfortable home (not worth as much as a few years ago) and we don't have to retire or move soon.
