coldwell banker tatie payne: There are high speed Internet options for rural living - 03/03/09 10:57 PM
I work from home so the internet has become a necessity in our house.  My husband finally got himself a laptop and tears came to my eyes the first time I got an e-mail from him.  My daughters received Webkinz for Christmas, so we now have a new daily ritual of checking on their Webkinz world.
Although we live in the country we are only 6 miles outside of Columbia.  When we first moved into our house, dial up was our only internet option.  Then Wild Blue internet was offered by our local electric co-op.  It cost us approx. $300 for the … (1 comments)

February 28 - March 1

coldwell banker tatie payne: Cooking Salmon in the Dishwasher? Anyone? - 11/01/08 10:22 PM
I'm trying to shake up our dinner menus so I've been spending time on internet sites looking for fresh and new dinner ideas to serve my family.  I tried a macaroni puff dish the other day, that didn't go over very well.  Even my not picky child liked it.
I found this recipe on the web on how to cook Salmon in the dishwasher.  Really?  Has anyone ever tried this?  I would be afraid that the water would get in the foil?
Salmon ala Dishwasher
Ingredients
4 (4 ounce) fillets salmon Juice from one lemon Salt & pepper

coldwell banker tatie payne: Current Housing Market Statistics for Columbia, Missouri- Sept/October 2007/2008 - 10/27/08 11:46 PM
I was visiting with one of my sellers the other day about our local market.  She had been talking to another person in her neighborhood who also has their home listed.  Her neighbor had gone into detail about a conversation they'd had with their agent.  A conversation on how in the same month in 2007, 800 houses closed and this month only 140 houses had closed in Columbia.
I said, "Ms. Seller, that information isn't correct.  Let me pull up the true stats for listings with a Columbia address and then we can talk about it.  During the same month in 2007, 125 … (2 comments)

With over 300 artists, the largest craft show in Central Missouri is held each year at the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse on the campus of the University of Missouri- Columbia.  It sneaks up on me every year but is well worth the visit.  Many unique and handcrafted items start the holiday shopping season!  There is always a line at "opening" time so you may want to arrive early and get near the front.
My advice, arrive early and make your way from the front to the … (2 comments)

coldwell banker tatie payne: A Twenty year planner ~ I would rather have the Five! - 10/09/08 04:11 PM
I received a present on my desk this afternoon.  A delivery from a the Sales Manager from Tan Tar A hotel.  The present?  A twenty year planner.  Kind of a neat idea, I can see that in the year 2027 my daughter's birthday will be on a Thursday and she will be 27 years old.   My 3 year old baby will celebrate his 22nd birthday on a Saturday.
My thoughts on how neat it is has been replaced by sadness and a yearning for the memories that haven't happened yet.  In the year 2027 I will be 56 years old.  Will … (2 comments)

One thing we struggled providing was help with yard care.  She a two year old in the house and was far along in a pregnancy so trying to spend the afternoon on a riding mower was pretty much impossible.  I called so many different organizations trying to locate help and I learned … (0 comments)
