We had a huge hail storm and several homes in the neighborhood were getting their roofs replaced. Our buyer also wanted the roof replaced. The short sale closed and the insurance check was issued to the former owner and the former mortgage company. The former mortgage company for the short sale KEPT the insurance check and won't return it. Please be aware that this is happening because the mortgage companies are trying to get as much money as possible. Does anyone have an idea on how to get the check back?
