loan lock: Interest Rates

Okay...interest rates are not making the loan business very easy right now. As a loan officer, we let the customer know what interest rate we will be able to provide them with. Until the customer has decided to lock the interest rate, we cannot guarantee that rate. Well, in today's market, the interest rates are steadily climbing higher. So, on occasion, we have customers who assume that we have locked their interest rates for them. But, until we know for sure that they want us to lock, we will not do it.
