Two houses right across the street from each other can be strikingly different.
I held an open house last Sunday across the street from another house in Fremont that was being held open by another real estate company. Despite the proximity of the two houses in a very desirable part of Fremont, Ca., they could not be more unlike each other. I held open a home built in 1978. Inside of this single story Fremont house, are 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths in 2,977 sq. ft. The large lot of approximately ½ acre includes a pool and spa, patio, (5 comments)
IS THE GLASS HALF EMPTY IN THE FREMONT, CA. REAL ESTATE MARKET? - 09/28/11 05:23 PM
Is the glass half empty in the Fremont, Ca. real estate market? The most recent Standard & Poor’s/Case-Schiller index of 20 American cities was released a couple of days ago. It showed an upwards movement of 0.9% for July over June of this year but a dip of 4.4% from July of 2010. Yet, many economic soothsayers predict that prices will decline in the future if the job market does not improve. All three California cities that are included in the 20 city survey saw minor monthly gains. Los Angeles was up 0.2%, San Diego was up 0.1% and San Francisco (0 comments)

LOOKING THROUGH 4 1/2 YEAR OLD EYES - UNCLEAR ON THE CONCEPT - 09/22/11 11:50 PM
My granddaughter was talking to my daughter about school. Ella said that she misses her mom when she is at school. Little Ella is in kindergarten and is still getting accustomed to her new environment, new teacher, new friends, and all the new stuff that she is experiencing after spending the last two years in pre-school.
Trying to reassure Ella her mom said, “When you miss me, just close your eyes for a moment and think about me and I will be there with you.” Without missing a beat, Ella said, “I tried closing my eyes. (7 comments)

9/11 TENTH ANNIVERSARY – COLLATERAL DAMAGE IN THE REAL ESTATE WORLD - 09/10/11 12:29 AM
I wrote an offer on a short sale house on Union City, Ca. on Tuesday. I called the listing agent and asked if he had any offers. He said he had threats from three Realtors who planned to write offers, including me, but nothing in hand. So my client signed the offer and I sent it to the agent. He acknowledged receiving the offer. By Thursday, I had heard nothing so I sent an email inquiry. No response so I called the agent today (Friday). He apologized but told me this story: the sellers are both long time members of the (8 comments)
Does your voicemail greeting make you sound like a blabbermouth or a great big fibber? - 09/07/11 11:55 PM
Amy has written a great post about a pet peeve for many of us. Only thing worse is a generic answer with no identification so I wonder if I connected with my intended target. That goes for agents, who should know better, and everyone else, too. How hard is it to set up your voice mail? Via Amy Jones, AZ REALTOR ~ Chandler~ Sun Lakes~ Ahwatukee~ Gilbert~ Tempe (RE/Max Infinity): "Hello, you've reached Agent Aggie. I'm either on another call or out with clients, so please leave a message." Ok. Really? I'm wondering if Real Estate Agents the only folks who do this? (5 comments)
