(Maggie Valley, NC) Would the foreclosures, short sales and other toxic assets be getting cleared out if the lenders did not expect the US government to pay more for them? I only really know 'my market'. Every short sale and foreclosure has more than one offer on it. So why aren't they getting sold to the private sector; to buyers in the community? Are they waiting because they think the Federal Government will pay more? It is too soon for the Stimulus Package to be working. There for - what could it be? Business is picking up. More buyers are looking, more offers, more activity. Is it just me or is it happening in other areas as well? I do not think it is any new strategy on my part - I have been hanging in there. It is our 'slow time of year'. I have been reading some articles that make me think. Real Estate is one of the great success stories of Free Enterprise and Capitalism. Real Estate is the basic Free Enterprise with individuals making decisions - taking the risks and gaining the benefits. Two inches of Snow Cataloochie decided to start making snow on October 28, 2008. This is the earliest of any ski resort on the east coast.
