Second home interest or Capital gains...which is better to remove?? - 05/25/12 07:48 AM

Second home interest or Capital gains tax…on non-primary homes…what would you rather see as non-taxable (or no longer tax deductable) ??

I was very disheartened when I heard the Romney camp float the removal of second home mortgage interest as a tax deduction. I firmly believe that many small businesses survive on the backs of the vacation home owners desire to own recreational homes. As a Ski area resort Realtor and a past Chamber of Commerce President…I know restaurants , ski shops, movie theaters, stores and seasonal businesses like water parks, ice cream shops derive a great deal of … (13 comments)

Terra Mesa Resort - Mothballing a project effects current owners - 05/14/12 09:59 AM

When a developer is having issues it can cause troubles for the existing inventory in a subdivision. Terra Mesa Resort – a Texas based resort developer recently closed shop on its marketing effort at one such subdivision here in New Hampshire. Well crafted – letters went out, “it’s the market” excuse…Ok we get that. But putting in place safety nets for the current (conveyed sites) owners need to be considered before you close the doors.

Wednesday White Mountain wonders. - 05/02/12 04:50 AM
Spring is my favorite times of the year...we are moving from white to Green, it's not too hot or too cold. The Mountains are high and the valley's are low...peaks are white and the golf courses are getting ready to open.
