The Flume Gorge is part of the New Hampshire state park, and is located at the southern end of the Franconia Notch State park. The man-made board walk allowing visitors to ascend through the gorge is removed in the winter to prevent the ice flows from tearing it apart. Visitors can still enjoy the upper and lower end of the Flume via a parallel hiking trail. Flume brook runs through the Gorge and meets up with the Pemigewasset river at the covered bridge

                      A great way to start your hike.

An April hike produce a few nice photos I would love to share. The Flume Gorge is the a New Hampshire State park. the Franconia Notch State Park to be exact, just north of Indian Head on Rte 3 in Lincoln NH.

The mossy walls are beginning to emerge from the Ice flows of April...the boardwalks are not ready for the public yet , but the hike is wonderful no matter the time of year.

Avalanche falls didn't have a huge volume of water due to the lack of recent rains and a small amount of melting snow from … (9 comments)
