steve loynd lincoln woodstock realtor: A Foot of Flurries in the Forecast - the White Mountains are for hardy souls - 02/25/11 03:58 AM
That's right, A Foot of Flurries in the Forecast...A Northeast dusting. The weather in New England can change fast, this morning we had blue sky's - but the maps were telling us we had better get ready for the white stuff.

Cannon Mountain - Blue sky's and just a hint of clouds on the leading edge of winter weather.

A Short time later...more clouds than sun envelope the ski slopes, but no one is complaining.

It's gone from clear to cloudy in a matter of minutes, this is the Franconia Notch State Park. All that travel … (8 comments)

New Years day...Having tasted Scotch...then Red wine, to beer and then back to RED...I had a Hangover this morning. But I promised my wife...exercise and eat better. So a hike was required for a rare day off (thank goodness for Holidays or I'd never get outside).

Careful with the footing it's easy to crack yourself on a icy rock.
I would have rather been skiing but a late start to New Years Morning, and some much needed couch re-cooperation time (read Football here) held back … (9 comments)

steve loynd lincoln woodstock realtor: ...The Kancamagus scenic highway offers: foliage, fury and feathered friends - 09/25/10 08:43 AM
As I look across the street these trees struck me as being out of order...not the normal before and after shot. Nature has it's own way of changing the order of things it doesn't always conform to what we expect.
My Real estate office is on the Kancamagus Scenic highway, and so are some of my fury and feathered friends, come to see the foliage and you may get more than you bargained for.

A little patriotic foliage, with the soon to be white ski slopes peaking out in the background.

It's not that I'm lazy, but these … (12 comments)

steve loynd lincoln woodstock realtor: Driftwood the force of a white mountain river the roots are tested - 09/22/10 12:39 PM
I came across this piece of drift-root. The forces must have been huge to plunge whats left of this century old root ball 30 feet above the river and 50 feet back into the woods. This root is about 20 feet across.

The interesting part came upon further examination. You see there are several rocks embedded in the root, they have a strange hold on bolling ball size boulders. But my son will add some action shots to the post. We have been working on a one acre water hazard in our yard...it is being put to use  this week.
