Fort Myers Beach is hosting a sand sculpting championship this weekend entertaining artists from around the country. Master sculpters will gather to show their talent in the warm sun along the south end of Estero Island. This annual event showcases artists works that will leave you saying that can not be sand.
They will setup behind the Outrigger Beach Resort and be working each day now through Sunday. Final judging will be on Sunday.

We live in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Sand and the gulf of Mexico frame our landscape. Many times I wonder if the visionaries of that sculpt our future have the right line of sight. Some don't want change, Fort Myers beach should fight growth they say. A start there would be to clean the beach on a regular basis. Our family vacationed in Clearwater for a few years prior to trying out this area. The beaches there were plowed and combed each morning. Pristine to each new footprint.
