In 2008 I thought we were past this type of thinking. I see not!!
You know there are several things (topics) that I try to stay away from because at times it can lead to so much controversy but it has become prevalent of late. Where do these radio personalities get off thinking saying disparaging remarks about African Americans. First (and most recently) the Don Imus fiasco concerning the Rutgers University Women’s Basketball team.
I will not dignify and write what he said as I know most everyone has heard it before. What gives him the right to … (28 comments)

Professor Randy Pausch succumbs to cancer. - 07/25/08 05:14 PM

Professor Randy Pausch succumbs to cancer.
No he wasn’t a household name by any stretch. Not world famous by no means. Maybe not one of the so-called “beautiful” people we hear so much about. No just an ordinary person doing ”extraordinary” things to better the world he lived in. If you were familiar with him he wrote the “Last Lecture” that garnered world wide fame. A professor from Carnegie Mellon University.
I had the opportunity to watch it (on the internet) and there wasn’t a dry eye in the place. Here was a person (diagnosed with pancreatic cancer) who … (19 comments)

Matthew 8: 23-27.Jesus Calms the Storm . - 07/16/08 05:05 PM
  Matthew 8: 23-27
Jesus Calms the Storm
23Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!"
26He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and … (10 comments)

John 15: 1-8 - 07/15/08 04:08 PM
  John 15: 1-8

1"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

Back to IRAQ!! A Brother’s Duty. - 07/15/08 04:00 PM

Back to IRAQ!! A Brother’s Duty.
I was just conversing with my brother and we discussed his upcoming departure for Iraq in September 2008. The descriptions of the hell people go thru are unimaginable. I don’t know if I could do it. When we pray (daily) we ask for the Lord to put His hedge of protection around him during his tour there. This will be number 3. Will it end I don’t know. Am I scared? Of course I am. But there is a higher authority out there keeping him as well as others safe from harm.
 We … (7 comments)

Matthew 9:12.13 - 07/11/08 07:37 PM

Matthew 9:12.13
12On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.'[a] For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
Sometimes I used to wonder about this verse. Sinners are just like lost sheep. If there was 100 sheep in the pasture and one got away what do you think Jesus would do. He would make sure the 99 were safe but he would definitely go after the one who got away. Why? Because we ALL are important … (9 comments)

John 3 :18-21 - 07/11/08 07:19 PM

John 3: 18-21
18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.[g] 19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been … (8 comments)

UPDATE AGAIN!!07-30-08UPDATE!!!! Prayer Request for my Mother - 07/07/08 01:44 PM
UPDATE!!!! Prayer Request for my Mother
My mom was admitted again to the hospital in Orlando with a heart attack on Sunday morning.  The good thing is they(brothers and sisters) stopped by because my older sister was on the way home (out of state) and wanted to say goodbye. They had to take her by ambulance in the morning and she will be there for a few days. In my honest opinion that is the best place for her right now.
The next move is convincing her to move to some sort of assisted living facility. It’s coming to that … (37 comments)

Happy Fourth of July. - 07/04/08 12:06 PM

Happy Fourth of July.
On a momentous holiday (Independence Day) let US ALL not forget the main reason for it. It’s not about the barbecues, beaches or the vacations. It’s about the people who protect OUR FREEDOM in far off lands. It’s about the people who SACRIFICE themselves so we can be ho WE are. The military MEN and Women who stand guard for us.
My brother (in 3 months or less) heads back to IRAQ for the 3rd time. Am I worried? Of course. But I have a God who will watch over him and everyone else that’s … (7 comments)

Have you Noticed…. - 07/03/08 08:46 AM
<  Have you Noticed….
Have you seen in your area properties are starting to move lately. I had a client email me five homes last night and 4 out of the five are SOLD. Now as frustrating as that can be it’s also a good thing. Yes there is still an abundance of properties for sale but lately the ones I want to see are already gone. I told her of this fact and yes it bummed her out but I told her there are many more to choose from.
Now with the NAR campaign slogan “It’s a great … (14 comments)

Realtor shot in West Michigan.
This just came in from our board. Not a good situation. The shooter actually came to his office and shot the realtor in the conference room. What is the world coming to nowadays? Are we not safe.

Understanding the buying public and a little common sense. - 07/01/08 10:54 AM

Understanding the buying public and a little common sense.
This post is truly just my honest opinion but I’ve noticed lately some buyers (understanding that a market is essentially in their lap) are trying to take control of the situation between a transaction. I read a post yesterday from    Ricki Eichler  entitled http://www.activerain.com/blogsview/573079/Are-your-buyers-skittish and it lends the credence to what I’m saying.
How much control can we exercise over (maybe not the best word to use) our “clients” during a transaction. There are times when some of their requests are beyond making any sense but as their “fiduciary” we … (4 comments)
