Cherry Creek North - Grand opening celebration - The new north.  There was an amazing array of speakers for the dedication.  Julie Bender, Cherry Creek Business Improvement District (BID) President and CEO, started off.  Like all great speakers, she did an excellent job of congratulating other people for making the project work.  She did a great job of picking people out of the crowd like Presidents of the Neighborhood Associations and recognizing their work.  Councilwoman Jeanne Robb was there as it is in her district.  Bill Vidal, the current mayor of Denver, Colorado did a great job of speaking.  He does … (0 comments)

Atlas Shrugged is an incredibly awesome movie.  I highly recommed the movie and you should go see if before it is gone from your local theaters.  It's very unfortate that it is doing so poorly at the box office that it is likely to be pulled.  One of the most fascinating things with the audience reactions.
The very first audience reaction was the meeting between the steel and railroad industrialist.  Clearly two of the heros from the movie.  She shows up to get the steel early if possible.  A guy behind me says, "What's she gonna do carry the steel out … (3 comments)

politics: What was the US like last time Unemployment hit 10% - 11/07/09 05:29 PM
Unemployment was last above 10% Michael Jackson hadn't even released Thriller.  I was immediately struck by the fact that the proportion of people employed in health care and education has doubled.  Manufacturing has been nearly been cut in half.  If this doesn't scare the hell out of you, you're not paying attention.  This just seems intuitively wrong and bad for America.
For those argue that is what we want, why do we have ten percent unemployment.  As a nation are we healthier now then we were then.  Are the kids we have now smarter?  Are more of them graduating?  Three people … (5 comments)

politics: Starting to fix the Real Estate and Financial mess or Why the stock market had one of its best days ever - 03/11/09 03:47 AM
I've got my own solution to the Real Estate and financial crisis ... I'll save that for another day.  There are two components to the crisis that are at least being talked about.  This is one reason for my recent stock trades.
