Thursday morning and we're off and running.  Showers expected today with periods of steady, heavy rain.  That's great for all lawns, vegetation in the wilderness and wildlife.  Rain - a perfect change for SoCal.
The market rebounded after inauguration day only to open today sliding down again.  Microsoft and other economic data the reason.  The median price of a home in California continues to drop with an increase of sales attributed to foreclosures.

The 20th of January, a historic day in American history.  We're watching the Presidential Inauguration on television.  The transfer of power takes place at 9am LA time.  When President Clinton was sworn in an estimated 800 thousand attended the ceremony in D C.  300 thousand were present for Bush's 2nd term, 400 thousand for his first... Today an estimated 1.4 million will be in attendance.  
This is one of the few days television is exuding tons of useful information. That itself is a historic event.

A titillating Tuesday!  Sunny and warm again.  It is going to get up into the mid 80's downtown LA and we love it!
 24 the television show has returned.  Talk about an angst ridden series.  You can feel the tension cut through the television screen and pour right into your body.  The star Kiefer Sutherland lives in Silverlake which is a little west of downtown and loves being there!  Jack Bauer is in Silverlake.  Tonight the season premier of American Idol.  It's definitely fun to watch.

"Warm and Windy" the title of a Doc Watson song on the Southbound album.  That sums up today's weather here in LA where it's expected to reach 77 degrees.  I bought that Southbound album while in London in the summer '67.  Time flies.  Doc Watson is one of the worlds greatest guitar "flat picker s."  He was born blind and managed to become world famous in spite of his handicap.  Pretty impressive.

Good morning and welcome!  It's Friday, a little cooler, cloudy and a chance of a sprinkle or two.  The high for downtown LA in the mid 60's.  USC looked great at the Rose Bowl, the NFL playoffs begin tomorrow, golf starts up next week; hopefully Tiger returns sooner than later. We get a new president in a few weeks.  Maybe things will change quickly for the better.  2008 was anything but great for most people.
