The transfer of power takes place at 9am LA time. When President Clinton was sworn in an estimated 800 thousand attended the ceremony in D C. 300 thousand were present for Bush's 2nd term, 400 thousand for his first... Today an estimated 1.4 million will be in attendance. This is one of the few days television is exuding tons of useful information. That itself is a historic event.
