Housing Grants in Senatobia MS-Southaven MS-Horn Lake MS-and Desoto County MS
Mississippi Development Authority has announced that there are 32 housing grants available for homebuyers purchasing a home in the city limits of Senatobia MS, Southaven MS, Horn Lake MS or Desoto County MS.
 
These grants are in the maximum amount of $28,750 each and can be used in combination with FHA loans, VA loans, USDA loans or conventional loans.  The housing grant funds can be used for downpayment, closing costs and for principal reduction of the mortgage loan.

While Hernando MS saw a slight decrease in the number of sales for May, we also saw an increase in the sales price and a decrease in the days on the market.
There were 33 sales in May in Hernando MS with an average sales price of $185,431 and an average days on the market of 96.  Here are the comparison to last month and same time last year:
April 2010sales:  38     Avg $159,879     Avg DOM  112
May 2009sales:  26     Avg $192,985     Avg DOM  120

Tate County MS saw a slight increase in the number of homes sold in May but the average sales price decreased.  There were 10 home sales in Tate County MS with an average sales price of $118,396.  The average days on the market went down to 93.

Here are how the numbers compare to last month and the same time last year:

Olive Branch MS saw a very slight decrease in the number of homes sold for the month of May but saw a slight increase in the average sales price.  There were 77 homes that sold in May with an average sales price of $177,375.  The average days on the market was 123.
