Wordless Wednesday - He finally didn't see me coming - 09/28/11 09:55 PM
Wordless Wednesday - He finally didn't see me coming Not too far from my thinking spot, I've tried numerous times to catch the guy on camera. Finally something had his attention long enough for the shutter to open and close before he saw. I need a quicker camera so I can catch him in flight. Such a majestic bird. Lives right at the base of Peters Mountain in Dauphin County. (9 comments)
Selling Your Home Is A Family Affair - Best Practice - 09/28/11 09:20 PM
Selling Your Home Is A Family Affair - Best Practice If you are thinking about putting your home on the market and you have children, I'm sure it's crossed your mind...."How in the world am I going to keep this place in top showing condition ready for buyers at all times". Well, I have the answer to help with that problem. I believe selling a home is a family affair and it involves the help of the entire household. So I've included in my marketing plan a way to get the kids involved. Yes of course it involves bribing. :-) but (5 comments)
This week will mark two completely different results from two different listings that were very similar. The differing results are mainly a result of the decision makers taking the advice of different people. A few months ago I received a couple of phone calls in the same week (completely unrelated) both couples were in similar situations with finances and were both behind in mortgage payments and were afraid of losing there homes to foreclosure.
After discussing their options both parties decided to list (1 comments)
Oh Did Facebook Change???? - 09/25/11 08:34 PM
Oh Did Facebook Change???? Watching my News Feed over the past few days on my Facebook page has been quite interesting. Several people are up in arms about these most recent changes. Now in addition, yesterday another attempt to scare everyone about they are going to start charging again. Well, I'm not on the staff at Facebook so I have no inside information but here's what I see.
I saw a post today that tonight at midnight your Facebook page will be deleted if you didn't copy and paste this particular spam message that was going around. The new (7 comments)
I took a new buyer out looking at properties today we came across a beautiful one just at the top of Peters Mountain in Dauphin County. It's situated just before you reach the top, on the south side of the mountain. It's is adjacent to the Applachian Trail and is surrounded by National Park Lands. My buyer has decided he is interested in a different property but I'd sure like to find a buyer for this property.
As we were walking through we came across Jack's Bean (1 comments)

I was reminded yet again today that I'm not in this alone. I get help from all over the place. I love the help from the articles, jokes and blogs I read from my friends on Active Rain and I love the help I get from the creatures of the field. I was out taking some video of a property and had a couple of visitors drop by to help.

The other day I read a blog about a photo taken of a listing and the listing agent was criticized for taking a lousy photo. Now, that particular photo was a great example for that particular post. The home just needed a little attention and it would have made a great difference. A few weeds in the sidewalk pulled, a couple of small planters added with some flowers on the porch would have gone a long way to improve that curb appeal. And if the photographer had centered the home in the camera (7 comments)

A Motivated Buyer Gets Help! Last fall I got a call from someone saying a previous client told him that if anyone had enough patience to help him buy a house, it would be me. He told me "I have bad credit and no money, can I buy a house?" Now of course the quick response answer is NO! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? but, you know that's not the full answer. Without giving any false hope I set up the appointment because you never know until you have all of the facts. I am a retired Air Force Master Sergeant (2 comments)

Hershey Hotel, Because You Deserve It - I'm Glad My Hubby Thought I Did. This month my husband, Brian, and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary and he treated me to a wonderful dinner out at the Circular Dining Room at the Hershey Hotel. We've been to some really nice places over the past 24 years, but I really enjoyed that night. I just wanted to share a little about that experience with you. If you've ever been to a restaurant and felt treated with a little less respect than others because you were placed in a corner table, you (2 comments)
Feeling a bit invisible lately? Blending with the rest of the crowd? You don't always have to follow the crowd. Sometimes you need to step out of the box or your comfort zone. Challenge yourself....stretch a bit....try a new technique....and wear white after Labor Day.

The After Hours Band performed and a number of locals sat and enjoyed.

This “Perfect for the first time home-buyer home” was spotted by this young couple excited to purchase their first home just in time for their wedding. They came armed with their pre-approval letter and a very acceptable offer.
Mr. Seller was thrilled his home would be the first home this young couple would start their lives together. Offer (58 comments)

10 A Day Keeps The Deals On The Way - 09/08/11 09:28 PM
10 A Day Keeps The Deals On The Way I just finished reading Barbara Todaro's blog "Stay Focused...Keep Working....The Deals Will Be There" and it inspired me to share an easy way to find business in today's market. I was just checking some data on my MLS this morning and I noticed in my market there have been 4320 single family homes sold, 90 of which were over $500,000. So that tells me the deals are out there, I just have to be on one side or the other of some of those deals. This year has been GREAT so (23 comments)
With all the torential rainfall we've had over the past couple of days, several creeks and streams were already flooding. The continued rain over night added to this flooding. Today we will see these flood waters will feed into the Susquehanna River north and west branches pushing many points to moderate or major flood levels. Several areas of the Susquehanna River will reach and exceed all time record levels. We are in a Flood Warning and the following rivers are affected: TIOGA RIVER AT MANSFIELDWEST BRANCH SUSQUEHANNA AT WILLIAMSPORTWEST BRANCH SUSQUEHANNA AT MUNCYWEST (1 comments)

This weekend we find ourselves nearing the end of a season, though not officially, but a lot of people recognize this weeked as the end of summer. I was just curious what you are planning to do this weekend: Laboring or Relaxing.
As I sat by my pond earlier this afternoon I made a short list of some things I need to catch up on tomorrow. That saying "The only thing constant is change" kept playing through my mind. So I am going to use this time to catch up on some (1 comments)
