Every Friday night now through October from 7 - 9 pm you can hear live music on the patio at the Armstrong Valley Winery located at 212 Rutter Road, Halifax, PA 17032.  If it's too chilly you can find them upstairs in the barn. 
This Saturday is Karaoke night from 7 - 9 pm upstairs in the barn.

Earthquakes, Hurricanes and Floods will not keep the music away, it might just delay it a bit.  Due to the recent floods, The 5th Annual Jazz Festival was rescheduled and will take place this Saturday and Sunday, October 1 & 2 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. but gates will open at 3:30 p.m. so you can get your lawn chairs and blankets set in place.  The festival will feature national recording artists and central PA’s elite jazz artists.

Not too far from my thinking spot, I've tried numerous times to catch the guy on camera. Finally something had his attention long enough for the shutter to open and close before he saw. This week will mark two completely different results from two different listings that were very similar.  The differing results are mainly a result of the decision makers taking the advice of different people. A few months ago I received a couple of phone calls in the same week (completely unrelated) both couples were in similar situations with finances and were both behind in mortgage payments and were afraid of losing there homes to foreclosure.

I took a new buyer out looking at properties today we came across a beautiful one just at the top of Peters Mountain in Dauphin County.  It's situated just before you reach the top, on the south side of the mountain.  It's is adjacent to the Applachian Trail and is surrounded by National Park Lands.  My buyer has decided he is interested in a different property but I'd sure like to find a buyer for this property.

The other day I read a blog about a photo taken of a listing and the listing agent was criticized for taking a lousy photo.  Now, that particular photo was a great example for that particular post.  The home just needed a little attention and it would have made a great difference.  A few weeds in the sidewalk pulled, a couple of small planters added with some flowers on the porch would have gone a long way to improve that curb appeal. Elizabethville Salem UCC Hosted A Great 9-11 Event 
Today the Elizabethville Salem UCC hosted a successful Peach Festival in Honor of the 10th Anniversary of 9-11-01.  I got there just a little to late to get my Peach Cobler, but I surely enjoyed the Peach Pie I did get.  They offered all military, firemen, police and medical personnel 50% off all food and dessert items.  Money raised will benefit the Wounded Warrior Fund. 
The After Hours Band performed and a number of locals sat and enjoyed.

I just finished reading Barbara Todaro's blog "Stay Focused...Keep Working....The Deals Will Be There" and it inspired me to share an easy way to find business in today's market.

With all the torential rainfall we've had over the past couple of days, several creeks and streams were already flooding.  The continued rain over night added to this flooding.  Today we will see these flood waters will feed into the Susquehanna River north and west branches pushing many points to moderate or major flood levels.  Several areas of the Susquehanna River will reach and exceed all time record levels. 
We are in a Flood Warning and the following rivers are affected:

Next weekend marks the 10th anniversary of the tragedy that our Nation faced on 9-11-01.  There are several communities that will mark this anniversary with a variety of different memorial services or other events. 
The Salem United Church of Christ is on that list.  They will be hosting it's Annual Peach Festival to honor the lives lost and the sacrafices made by all affected.  It is a free event from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. with "After Hours" band providing entertainment starting at 4:00 p.m.
