Pending Sales Up in Maple Valley-Median Price Down - 03/24/09 10:06 PM
When sales begin to increase in the Spring we often attribute it to an improvement in weather...but we can't really use that excuse given the snow and heavy rains we've had this month. But do we really need to attribute the nearly 32% increase in pending sales this month over last to anything other than incredibly low, bargain basement pricing, amazing (think 5 or just under) interest rates and very motivated sellers? Pending sales (those with mutually accepted contracts) have risen by 32% in the Maple Valley market this month over last. Of these sales however, the median price has fallen (7 comments)
Quadrant Homes Ups the Incentive for 1st Time Buyers - 03/22/09 07:42 PM
Builders are also looking to be part of the housing slump solution in the Pacific Northwest by offering buyer incentinves and very attractive entry-level pricing. Quadrant Homes just blasted an email announcing they are going to match the Government's $8000 first time home buyer credit by offering an additional $8000 buyer bonus for all homes sold before April 15, 2009. That's a $16,000 incentive! There is fine print however, so make sure you have an experienced Realtor representing your interest as a buyer. Let's Become Part of the Solution - 03/19/09 09:32 PM
Have you heard the saying “if March comes in like a lion it will go out like a lamb”? I’ve decided to borrow that, switch it up and apply it to the real estate market of 2009. In fact, I think I’ll make it my mantra for the year… “If the market comes in like a lamb then it’s bound to go out like a lion” Right? If only the repetition could make it so. But the truth is no matter how optimistic I try to be, the market is what it is; fewer homes are selling, prices are declining due (15 comments)

There’s nothing more fun to do on a Summer Saturday than visit a local Farmers Market. And this summer, those of us who love picking out fresh produce, flowers and other “goodies” won’t have to drive very far. The Maple Valley Farmer’s Market will open June 20, 2009 and will be held at Rock Creek Elementary School. The organizers are looking for community input as they put the finishing touches on the project. You can take the survey online. I'm sure more details will be available soon!
