Did you know yesterday was "Talk Like a Pirate Day"?
I didn't until about 8 pm and by then there was no one around to annoy with my great Pirate accent.
I'm into accents. Some co-workers and I recently discovered the HeyTell app for smart phones and rather than texting each other, we voice text each other...only I do it in British and Southern accents from time to time.
Just to keep things interesting.

Go Raiders!
 My father would cringe if he heard me say that....only because growing up the Oakland Raiders were one of our family's least favorite teams. But I do root for the  Raiders these days.....the organization two of my sons played for many years ago; the Maple Valley Raiders.

Just about midway through our backyard on my way to babysit for the next door neighbors I heard my Mom call out that Elvis Presley had died. Why I remember it so distinclty I'm not sure because I was 14..... and while young Elvis was pretty hot cool, old Elvis held no interest for me.
Mostly when I think of Elvis these days, what comes to mind is the way he said "Thank you.....thank you verrah much" in his darling Southern Accent.

9:30 Am this morning....I imagine there were quite a few smiling faces at bus stops across South King County this morning as parents sent their kids off to school for the 2011/2012 school year. Some districts resumed last week but for only a day or two, today seemed more like the "official" start of school. Sadly it also seemed more like the "official" end of Summer (Just in time for scorching temps too!).

I don't know if every little girl dreams of having a pony horse at some point in her life, but I know I sure did!  Unfortunatley I  had to wait until I turned 30 and realized that as an "official grownup" I could get myself I horse if I darned well wanted one!
