real: Do you "Resume"? - 10/11/09 03:46 PM
Recently while teaching a class, I mentioned that agents should be giving their clients Resume’s prior to the first meeting.  One agent asked what I thought it should look like, so here’s mine, as an example.
It’s my belief that agents are essentially asking for a job when the encounter a potential client, so why wouldn't you send this to them?  It will allow you to concentrate on THEM during the meeting, trusting that they will have a good idea of who you are before hand.
Resumes should be under two pages and very easy to read.  One element that you … (3 comments)

real: The Principals of Marketing (non-technology) Presentation - 03/17/09 08:08 PM
Here is the presentation I did for our basic marketing principals class, done for the Success Series at the Real Estate Career Academy. This is a part of a larger series and does not cover the in depth internet marketing of a later session. The world of Real Estate is ever evolving and ensuring that marketing is client centric, rather than agent-centric is important. real: Is your Real Estate Instructor afraid of you? - 02/03/09 08:34 PM

Self Preservation
I've just returned from the 2008 NAR Convention in Orlando, Florida. I got the opportunity to take some instructor-updates and spend time with several instructors. Some of the things I heard, were disconcerting to me. Several of these instructors were ranting about the students bringing laptops and blackberry's into the classroom. One instructor went as far as to state that he refuses to even allow these devises in the building (while he was on this rant, I was checking e-mail on my blackberry.) While listening to these discussions, I realized that the issue was not the … (0 comments)

real: Are You a Consultant? - 11/28/08 09:59 AM
