I think the consumer in many cases are conditioned to think cheaper better. Many will screen based only on that one simple fact.  What many don't realize is there are many different types of agents.  They have different specialties, experience levels, education, training and business models.
Here are a few things to look for:
Area knowledge Specialty Experience Full-time or Part-time Education Training Certification Team Your Realtor is a great resource for information to make an informed buying or selling decision.

Last Snow of the YEAR... Well maybe? - 04/16/09 02:48 PM
April snows bring May flowers?  Now wait a minute.  I thought is was April showers bring May flowers......
Oh well....I think this is the last snow of the years.
The skier and snowmobiles will be loving it.
 

 We got anywhere from 2" to 8" in the valleys and much more in the mountain.  Snow in the mountains is great to ensure we have water for the summer months.

 
Last snow at sunrise as the storm is finishing up.  These are beautiful times of the day.

Reminders that Spring is on the way...Geese arrived a little early.... - 04/16/09 02:32 PM
They arrived a little early and the ice has now melted.   
 They are experiencing a hard water problem....
 

 Also some snow still on the pond......
 

 
It was only a couple of days before the ice melted and they were able to enjoy the pond....I believe now they have built their nest and the little ones should be appearing soon.

Originally announced by President Obama on Feb. 17 the Home Affordable Refinance Program is geared toward helping customers current on their mortgage payments, but where the home value has declined to a point that may make them ineligible for traditional refinance products. These loans must fund and close by June 10, 2010. The two programs being introduced in the market are the Freddie Mac Relief Refinance Mortgage and the DU Refi Plus. The first program that we cover if the Freddie Mac Relief Refinance Mortgage.

The people who played KEY roles in the financial meltdown are very good at SPINNING the truth and focusing blame to distract from the real issues.
So maybe it should be explained differently, for example from this perspective:
In sports when a regulator official makes a bad call, the homeowners spectators voices their displeasure.  If it cost the financial institutions team the game, then we have news.  Most likely the regulatorofficial will be held accountable for their actions.
Now let's back step and take wider view.....

Easter Morning Moon Setting in Saratoga Springs, Utah - 04/12/09 11:25 AM
 THE MOON SETTINGS IN THE WEST AS THE SUN IS RISING IN THE EAST  

We enjoy watching the sunrise on Easter Morning.  This year we got an extra special treat. 
This is the first time I have seen the Moon setting in the West while at the same time the Sun was rising in the East.
 We enjoy some spectator views here in Saratoga Springs, Utah and this will definitely be a memorable one.

I've decided it would be nice look at the history of sales in the Weber County area.  So I started with last month's sales and compared year over year for March.  The report includes everything on record. 
 

Things I find most note worthy
1- Sales showing the lowest on record since 1997.
2- (DOM) days on the market close to record levels.
3- Trend is to buy less expensive home.  Some of the lower prices is deflation of the market and part is the appetite of the buyers for upgrades is waning.
There is a silver lining.
