Oglethorpe stands at the center of Augusta's newest urban park, Augusta Commons, located in the 800 block of downtown's Broad Street.       With … (5 comments)

augusta ga: PCS to Fort Gordon, Georgia - 02/09/10 06:46 AM
Are you PCSing to Fort Gordon, GA? Soldiers and their families have enough to worry about when they are relocated to a new area by the military. Things such as housing, storage, daycare, schools, entertainment, restaurants and dining, family-friendly atmospheres, shopping, locations to base, etc. may not be the absolute first thing on your mind, but may be in the future. There will be periodic blogs from myself on this site in the near future which will give you more information on the previous-listed information. To get you started, the introduction to Fort Gordon can be found right here.

Today's woman wears many hats. I am a wife, real estate agent, mother, sister,  and friend. I am a chauffeur, a chef, a nurse and a counselor.  Yes, I love the roles but I really would love some time to myself.  I am very excited that the 10th annual CareFair for Women is a just around the corner.  Between running errands and showing houses to my new buyers, I plan on stopping by the Christenberry Fieldhouse at the ASU Athletic complex to take care of myself. It makes things very convenient for me as I won't have to take time out … (1 comments)

augusta ga: I am now an Ambassador for the local Augusta Chamber of Commerce - 03/16/09 09:51 PM
I am so excited I was recently elected to be an Ambassador for the local Augusta Chamber of Commerce. I have been so amazed over the last few weeks at all the great new as well as the many established Businesses in Augusta and Evans Georgia.

While Augusta has certainly felt the ripples of our country's struggle to tread turbulent economic waters, Georgia's second largest city has held up quite well compared to others across the nation. National rankings that give our city top honors in housing markets, workforce and business environments are a testament to Augusta's perseverance, growth and … (1 comments)

augusta ga: Augusta Georgia’s Housing Market is Strong - 12/21/08 11:17 AM
Our Augusta Georgia market is second in the nation in home value appreciation - not the "I like your house" brand of appreciation, but the increase in value version.
In the past year, the value of area homes increased (in total) 5.5 percent.
This information comes straight from the Federal Housing Finance Agency, which has a house price index based on the actual sale of homes. Most of the news from the agency is the national "Holy Toledo, things are bad" variety, such as the largest decline in home values in the 17-year history of the index.

augusta ga: I am SO Proud of our BUYERS right NOW!! - 12/10/08 05:51 PM
I am very impressed with our buyers right now!

The web traffic to my site www.HomesAndLandByMarie.com has had a huge influx of  traffic over the last three months.
This is telling me although they are not buying today, that the buyers are doing a very good job of educating themselves and making the preparation necessary to be ready to buy there homes in 2009.

The months of inventory show we are definitely in a  BUYERS MARKET.  What all this means to the consumer is that this is a good time to buy because the interest rates for a mortgage … (7 comments)

augusta ga: Augusta Georgia YMCA $1 days Sign Up In NOVEMBER - 11/01/08 08:28 PM
OK so I'm not the most physically fit person around. Everyone thinks I am because I'm tall and slender, but the truth is waking up in the morning has gotten to be very painful,  and 2 Arthritis pills before I even get my first cup of coffee.
I love Yoga I was first introduced to it and the correct way of doing it, a year ago after trying to do it myself with a DVD. I love the whole atmosphere of it as well as the relaxation that I found practicing it. So it is my hope that the YMCA  will … (3 comments)

augusta ga: How Effected ARE WE? - 09/19/08 12:42 PM
With all the negative financial news lately do you feel like the sky is falling?

How much of the national, state or even local situation can you personally change?  Very little, right?  We can only keep our positive attitude & realize everybody lives in a house & most would like to move if you can help make it happen. How will YOU help them get happily moved?

While other parts of the country are having tremendous difficulties we need to realize how fortunate we are to live & work in the CSRA Georgia.

Think about the "typical" CSRA … (5 comments)
