July home sales in the 20715 zip code of Bowie hit a new high for 2012. That's only one fewer than closed sales during July 2011, the best July since 2007 for home sales in this zip code.
Other numbers for home sellers and buyers to watch: Sold Price: Prices for closed sales are holding steady from last year at $234,950 median sold price (+3.27%) and $232,232 average sold price (-.37%). This includes all homes in the 20715 zip code, including foreclosures and short sales reported by MRIS. Days on Market: Homes that sold in July were on the market (2 comments)
The Big Seven of Any Contract Evaluation - 08/25/12 07:40 AM
Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Seller, there's an offer on your home! Here's what you can expect when we sit down together to consider it: The first thing we'll do before we even look at the offer is to review an updated Market Trends Analysis that's similar to the one I prepared for you when we listed your home. Second, we'll review an updated Comparative Market Analysis. Odenton MD Real Estate Market Update The Odenton real estate market showed a 46% increase in units sold last month, over July 2011, with 38 closings. That's the highest number for any July over the past five years, although that number is down slightly from 41 in June. In more good news, the inventory of homes for sale in Odenton is down to the lowest point for July over those same five years – to 107, compared to 185 last year and more than 200 the previous three years. As the supply of homes for sale shrinks, conventional wisdom (0 comments)
How To Spruce Up Your Blog With Images From Flickr - 08/12/12 05:11 AM
If you're new to blogging, you may still be trying to figure out the best source for photo images. Your own images are always best, but images with a Creative Commons license are another option. Jon provided some helpful information on that topic in this post he wrote last year, and I thought it might be helpful to a new generation of bloggers. Thanks, Jon! Via Jon Zolsky, Daytona Beach, FL. FunCoast Realty, 386-405-4408: There are quite a number of places where you can get images for your blog. My favorite one is Flickr. It is free, it is easy to use, and (8 comments)
Military Retirees Face Deadline for Health Care Option - 08/10/12 09:38 AM
Military Retirees in many parts of the country will lose one of their health care options this month. If you are retired military or know any military retirees, please share this information with them as soon as possible, while they can still make an informed decision about their medical future. US Family Health Plan (USFHP) is currently a TRICARE Prime option for military beneficiaries of all ages. Recent changes to the Department of Defense budget has resulted in legislation to change this, however, so that retirees will be forced OUT of this program at age 65. The effective date is August 20, 2012. In (3 comments)
