crofton homes for sale: Crofton Real Estate Update for March 2012 - 04/16/12 06:30 AM
Real Estate Activity in Crofton MD for March 2012 was UP over last month (February 2012) and last year (March 2011), based on the units that settled. Home owners who are thinking of selling will be encouraged by this news. As you can see from this chart, closings nearly doubled! New non-contingent contracts were down, however, so I don't expect the number of closings to rise again in April. We'll see... I hope I'm wrong about this. More good news: The ratio of Sale Price to Original List Price was up about 3% over last month and last year (although it (2 comments)
crofton homes for sale: Crofton Home Buyer Alert - 130 Homes Currently for Sale - 08/08/11 08:10 AM
Home buyers still find Crofton an attractive place to live, and Crofton homes have continued to sell throughout the real estate downturn. The stability of the Crofton real estate market is evidenced by the fact that none of the detached homes currently on the market are either bank-owned or potential short sales, according to our regional multiple listing system. DETACHED HOMES There are forty-two detached homes for sale now in the 21114 zipcode, ranging in price from three homes priced just under $300,000 to an 8–year old 6–bedroom colonial in Braddock Farms at $679,900. The most expensive home on the market (1 comments)
crofton homes for sale: Tired of Scraping Your Car Windshield on Cold Mornings in Crofton MD? - 01/13/11 12:46 AM
CROFTON GARAGES FOR SALE (WITH HOMES ATTACHED, OF COURSE) If you'd like to get in your car and go in the mornings, rather than scrape your windshield in the dark, cold, wind, and even rain or snow on some days, you need a garage. I do understand... you weren't thinking about cold dark January mornings when you moved into that townhome or condo during the warm months... but now you ARE thinking about it and no amount of coffee or hot chocolate will prepare you adequately for starting your day with several minutes of scraping your car windshield before commuting to (12 comments)
CROFTON COMMONS is a community of about 90 homes built in the '70's. Like other townhomes in the area at the time, they originally sold around $60,000. All of the homes have a basement, as far as I know, and most are 3 bedroom homes with about 1400 sq. ft. There are also a number of 4-bedroom end units with nearly 1650 square (2 comments)
"Old Crofton" is considered by most people to be the triangle bordered by Rt. 3 to the West, Rt. 450 to the South, and Rt. 424 to the North, although there are some newer homes within that area, as well. (Routes 450 and 424 intersect to the East of Crofton.) The first Detached Homes in Crofton were built by Hamilton Crawford, the Louisiana developer who planned this community along with his friend Howard Davis, an engineer who accompanied him from Louisiana. Howard's wife, Louise, sold (5 comments)
crofton homes for sale: Do Your New Years Resolutions Include a New Home in Crofton or Odenton? - 01/01/09 11:43 PM
Savvy Crofton and Odenton renters are resolving to buy a home in 2009. With prices and interest rates at their lowest point in recent years, it's hard to imagine any reason for renting other than unresolved credit issues. If you haven't yet made a commitment to buy a home in 2009, here are my Top Ten Reasons for doing it now: 1. Pride of Ownership - You can decorate and landscape according to your own taste, on your own schedule. 2. Control of Your Own Destiny - No worries about the landlord renewing your lease or raising the rent. 3. (5 comments)
crofton homes for sale: Crofton Real Estate Update - October 2008 - 11/12/08 09:32 PM
Each month, between the 10th and 15th, I carefully review statistics published by our regional multiple listing service, MRIS. I usually find that numbers mirror anecdotal information shared by local real estate professionals, but I dutifully review them for the purpose of sharing accurate information with you through my blog.
In October, I was very surprised to see a spike in the average sold price, up almost 20% from October 2007, and the median sold price, up 18.16%. Most homes which settled in October probably went under contract prior to that, so these numbers don't reflect all that occurred in the financial world in (5 comments)
crofton homes for sale: Crofton Maryland Rancher for Sale - 05/21/08 11:34 AM
If you've been hating your stairs lately, I have a solution for you. It's a cute little rancher located at 1717 Tedbury Street, in Crofton. Never noticed Tedbury before? That's one of the best features about living on that street - not many people drive on it. When you come into Crofton from Route 450 via Tarrytown, you go right past Tedbury as you hurry on down to Crofton Parkway. Tedbury actually runs parallel to Tarrytown, and hooks up with Regents Park road at the end. As Crofton roads go, this location is one of the best - it's rarely traveled, there are well-maintained homes, and (9 comments)
crofton homes for sale: April Blooms in Crofton, Maryland - 04/04/08 11:35 AM
Crofton, Maryland, is located in Anne Arundel County, home of the U.S. Naval Academy, Fort George G. Meade, NSA, BWI, and Northrop Grumman; about 35 minutes from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore Maryland. Crofton is a "community," however, and not just a subdivision or zipcode . The distinction is in the residents who make Crofton one of Money Magazine's Top 100 Best Places to live. One of the residents responsible for making Crofton, Maryland, the community it is today is Kaye Callahan. As a young mom in the late 60's/early 70's, Kaye spearheaded the effort to line Crofton Parkway with flowering cherry trees and other sections (11 comments)
