Real Estate Activity in Crofton MD for March 2012 was UP over last month (February 2012) and last year (March 2011), based on the units that settled. Home owners who are thinking of selling will be encouraged by this news. As you can see from this chart, closings nearly doubled! New non-contingent contracts were down, however, so I don't expect the number of closings to rise again in April. We'll see... I hope I'm wrong about this.

"Old Crofton" is considered by most people to be the triangle bordered by Rt. 3 to the West, Rt. 450 to the South, and Rt. 424 to the North, although there are some newer homes within that area, as well. (Routes 450 and 424 intersect to the East of Crofton.)

Each month, between the 10th and 15th, I carefully review statistics published by our regional multiple listing service, MRIS. I usually find that numbers mirror anecdotal information shared by local real estate professionals, but I dutifully review them for the purpose of sharing accurate information with you through my blog.
In October, I was very surprised to see a spike in the average sold price, up almost 20% from October 2007, and the median sold price, up 18.16%.
