Neighborhoods in Crofton Maryland located outside the Crofton Gates - Charing Cross Townhomes.
Charing Cross is a community of 122 spacious Crofton townhomes built from 1979 through the mid-80's in two phases by different builders. The community is located on the north side of Rt. 424, just east of Rt. 3. It is not inside the "Crofton Triangle" or the special taxing district, but it is located within the Crofton zipcode (21114) and residents do attend Crofton public schools.

CROFTON COMMONS in Crofton MD is ideally located for anyone working on post at Fort Meade or anywhere in the D.C.-Baltimore area... and it's only about a half hour to either the D.C. or Baltimore beltways.

The number of "days on market" for homes sold in Crofton during March was DOWN 24% from the same month in 2008 and 40% from last month. How's that for good news!?!
Two adjacent zipcodes have different results to report, however, proving again that all real estate is local. In Odenton, "days on market" went UP 43% from March 2008 and, in Gambrills, the number went DOWN 58% in March 2009 from the same month last year. That's quite a swing for three adjacent zipcodes that many people consider to be the "Greater Crofton Area."

This evening I decided to "play" real estate, not "do" real estate. In other words, I put on my customer hat and put away my real estate agent hat.

Arundel Wildcats Varsity boys basketball team is playing Northeast H.S. on the courts Tuesday, February 17, but that's not all. They're also taking on the battle against Cancer as part of a larger school effort to create awareness and fight the disease.

As you drive past Crofton on Route 3, you will see the back of brick townhomes overlooking Lake Louise. No surprise, then, that the neighborhood in which they're located is called "Lake Louise."
The townhomes in this neighborhood are brick front and back, with siding used on very few of them and only for architectural detail.
Their location is wonderful, just inside the main gate, within blocks of the Crofton Village Green and Crofton Country Club.
Some could say these townhomes are "cookie cutter" because their exteriors are very similar, but that doesn't detract from their appeal at all.

It's Sunday morning, and some of my neighbors will gather at one of the many places of worship in our community.
First Baptist Church of Crofton, located on Crofton Parkway, is the first House of Worship you see when you drive into the communty via Clubhouse Gate Rd.
If memory serves me correctly, the architecture is modeled after Bruton Parish Church in Historic Williamsburg. Built in 1968 with the help of Crofton developer Hamilton Crawford, it is located at the heart of the community near the Crofton Village Green and Crofton Country Club Clubhouse.

Many homeowners are worried about the values of their Crofton homes, and that certainly is understandable in this economic climate. Let me reassure you that the "average" and "median" sold home prices in September 2008 were only slightly lower than they were in 2005. (Probably the 2004 level, but I don't have the statistics to substantiate that.) Most of us were not unhappy with those prices at that time.
