Real Estate Activity was UP during January 2010 over January 2009 in Davidsonville, Maryland, as evidenced by an increase in sold/settled and listings, although new contracts gives us some pause for concern.
Unfortunately, the average days on market were much higher measured both Year on Year and Month on Month, but higher-end homes often take longer to sell than modestly priced homes. HOMESELLERS:
The best news I saw last month for home sellers in Davidsonville MD in this 5-year chart of real estate statistics was "no new listings". Yet 3 homes sold/settled and 3 others went under contract. Any time the inventory remains steady or goes down, as it did in December, that's good news for home sellers.

I was on a mission to get some shots of Davidsonville, Anne Arundel County's own "horse country," when I pulled off Rt. 214 to take this photo.
This fella wondered what was going on and came over to check us out.
Homes in Davidsonville tend to be very grand, and located in upscale communities with acre+ lots.

'Just bought a Davidsonville home, settlement is over, the moving truck has come and gone... now what?
Unpacking and putting things away seems like a good place to start, but procrastination rears its ugly head... So you're off to the store - 'Gotta find some new ways to organize your clutter. If you don't do it when you move in and put things away, when will you?
If only there were a Container Store nearby, but there's not. Target, Home Goods, K-Mart and Walmart are probably your best bet unless you're military and have access to shopping at Fort George G. Meade, the USNA, or Andrews AFB.
