The University of Maryland Concert Choir and Symphony Orchestra will perform Mozart's Requiem Mass in D Minor tonight, September 11, to commemmorate the tenth anniversary of 9/11/2001.  Faculty members and Maryland Opera Studio singers will join the student groups for this performance at 7:30 p.m., in the Dekelboum Concert Hall at Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.

university of maryland: Date Night at the NCAA Touranment - 03/29/08 12:03 AM
Living in Crofton, Maryland, means more than convenience to Washington and Baltimore - it means being within a half hour of the University of Maryland College Park and Terps sports.
Ours is a family of Terps fans, and we have season tickets for football; but tickets for men's basketball are hard to come by.  We never really thought about going to the women's games, but Larry and I decided to go watch the Lady Terps play in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament at Comcast Center earlier this week.  We saw some great basketball as the top-seeded Lady Terps beat Nebraska 76-64, following … (14 comments)

Your real estate connection for Anne Arundel County, Maryland - Home of Fort George G. Meade, Northrop Grumman, BWI and the U.S. Naval Academy
When our now-grown children were in elementary and middle school, we bought seasons tickets to University of Maryland football games, hoping they would have so much fun they would want to go to UMD.  We knew that in-state tuition would make college more affordable for us and them some day, and they would be more likely to graduate without college loans by going there rather than an out-of-state college or university.
The results of our long-term efforts:  two out of three became Terps.  The third had an athletic scholarship … (10 comments)

According to the GRIST website, it is environmental news and commentary - with personality!  Frankly, it's refreshing to see their approach to a topic that could be very dull.
Regarding the University of Maryland, GRIST reports that "Students at this College Park campus recently sent … (6 comments)
