Missouri City Commemorative Ceremonies for 2011Missouri City has planned two ceremonies to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The first will be Sunday, Sept. 11 at 9:30 a.m. on Protector’s Plaza at Public Safety Headquarters, 3849 Cartwright Rd. Residents will join City Council, local elected officials, law enforcement officers, fire department officials, and staff to honor the victims of the tragedy.

Things Continue To Get Bigger in TexasHouston and Texas continue population growth trend
According to a recent report of population estimates from The Business Journals the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown metro region’s population will be 6,139,797, compared to 5,946,800 as of the April 2010 Census.
That moves Houston ahead of Philadelphia to rank No. 5. Dallas-Fort Worth remains at No. 4, with a population of 6,554,919 as of Sept. 1. New York City is still the country’s largest metro area with a population of 18,978,154, followed by Los Angeles and Chicago.
