Missouri City Commemorative Ceremonies for 2011Missouri City has planned two ceremonies to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The first will be Sunday, Sept. 11 at 9:30 a.m. on Protector’s Plaza at Public Safety Headquarters, 3849 Cartwright Rd. Residents will join City Council, local elected officials, law enforcement officers, fire department officials, and staff to honor the victims of the tragedy.

Houston's Showhouse Showdown on HGTV
HGTV visted Houston to film a new upcoming series set to start this month called Showhouse Showdown. Two local interior designers decorated identical homes to compete provided by Meritage Homes in the Fall Creek Community. You can tour the houses at 14011 Robbie Creek and 13911 Robbie Creek.
The homes are now available for sale furnished and decorated. Each designer had a budget of $50,000 and three days to design five rooms in the homes, including the kitchen, master bedroom and living room. Imagine telling your guests "My home was featured on HGTV Showhouse Showdown".

According to a recent report of population estimates from The Business Journals the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown metro region’s population will be 6,139,797, compared to 5,946,800 as of the April 2010 Census.
That moves Houston ahead of Philadelphia to rank No. 5. Dallas-Fort Worth remains at No. 4, with a population of 6,554,919 as of Sept. 1. New York City is still the country’s largest metro area with a population of 18,978,154, followed by Los Angeles and Chicago.

Classic Bakery is still open in Sugar LandClassic Bakery 4645 Highway 6Sugar Land, TX 77478(281) 265-6886Despite a couple of weeks of rumors and panic around the community, Classic Bakery has not closed down. The popular establishment is now located inside of Wel-Farm Supermarket next door.
Over the past 3 weeks I've heard distressed family members and church friends blast the economy for claiming one of Sugar Land's favorite Asian bakeries. I called a Realtor associate who represents the Classic Bakery family and learned they just relocated into the supermarket next door.
