This week might as well be called "idea week" in Louisville, as the week will be consumed with IdeaFestival 2010 and an event exalting NuLu, one of the best ideas in modern Louisville. The Nulu Festival, called by some the "after party to IdeaFestival," celebrates the development of NuLu and the city's commitment to redefine itself as the essence of the Possibility City. Louisville, known for its bourbon and its famous Derby, strives to be known for its innovation and its commitment to green living. It will be innovation on display in Louisville's East Market District. NuLu, situated along Market (0 comments)
Phoenix Hill lies east of downtown Louisville and a bit southwest of Butchertown. Framed by I-65 to the west, E. Main St. to the north, Baxter Ave. to the east, and E. Broadway to the south, Phoenix Hill is well known for its diversity. Now the neighborhood is an important part of the NuLu development in the East Market District west of downtown and east of The Highlands. It is considered part of East Market Street art gallery district and is home to many artists who have set up shop. Like Butchertown, Phoenix Hills is the also site of exciting new housing (0 comments)
Eating Fresh and Local in Louisville - 09/10/10 11:31 PM
Being a healthy hometown is part of Louisville's agenda. Since eating locally grown food is part of what makes for healthy living, farmers markets throughout the area are making a difference in the shopping habits of Louisville's citizens. Eating fresh and local in Louisville is easy to do. Unlike regular grocery stores, which are often open everyday and which (4 comments)

Labor Day in Louisville – Summer’s Last Hurrah - 09/01/10 10:48 PM
In the "old days" Labor Day marked the end of summer; that one last picnic ended early as kids prepared to go back to school on the following Tuesday or Wednesday. Now, schools starts in Louisville in mid August, which makes Labor Day the first official school holiday. In either case, there are plenty of special things to do in Louisville that make it summer's last hurrah. You can have a picnic at one of the nearby Kentucky State parks and enjoy camping and fishing while you are there. But, there is a whole lot more to do in the Louisville (0 comments)
Mollie with the Blue Shoes Knows Louisville - 09/01/10 10:47 PM
When I was married recently, I wore a lovely white lace dress, but my shoes were a sexy periwinkle blue. They not only added a fun touch of color, but proved to be comfortable enough to transport me through the streets of Paris. I thought about my magic blue shoes this weekend as the Louisville Home Builder’s Association is holding their annual Tour of Remodeled Homes on Saturday, August 14th and Sunday, August 16. This offers potential buyers a wonderful chance to see some refurbished properties our walkable city. Sponsored annually for the past 25 years, the tour is great (4 comments)
