    <title>Watch that Email String!! Warning!</title>

&lt;p&gt;Ok,&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Time for a quick note for anyone out there working via email day in and day out...&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;BEFORE you send an email to a client, prospect, -- even an associate - READ READ READ to see what you are forwarding along in the email string.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Here's a real-world example with a 5-figure impact for you:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Recently, I recevied a phone call from a Sales person regarding an advertising opportunity they wanted my company to take advantage of (on their site / system).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Sales person on the phone (left a VM) stated that they got my name from an associate of theirs, there at the Corporate Office - someone that knew me, and I knew as well -- and recommended that the Sales person give me a call regarding this opportunity to spend my advertising dollars with them. (I added that last part :-)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Fast - forward:&amp;nbsp; I get a very nice email from the Sales Rep outlining the program, spelling out the details, reach, exposure, historicals, etc.&amp;nbsp; - even price.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In fact, this being so close to end of Q2 I was leaning toward committing a good portion of the advertising budget to this program - to give it a whirl and see where it could take us.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;WHOOOOOOOOSH!!!&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- for those of you that don't know, That's the sound of a LOST SALE... the wind going out of the SALE so to speak.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;...I SCROLLED DOWN FURTHER IN THE EMAIL.... the one from the Sales Rep...&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This was a message that had been pulled out of someone's (no names here, I promise!!) inbox, added to, and forwarded over to the Sales Rep. The trouble is, the Sales Rep didn't review or edit the email before they added their program details and sent it over to me - a 5-figure mistake!!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;There in the text below was a comment from their 'superior' - (remember the associate at their company that knew me / I knew?) - a comment which I took (and still take) as derogatory.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;That SINGLE COMMENT and error will cost them,&amp;nbsp; in my estimation, 5-figures of LOST advertising revenue from my company over the course of the coming year.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;People, friends, associates, and the like - be CAREFUL what you send in email!!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;'Not' paying attention can be quite expensive.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I read with great interest recently an article by one of our members in Pittsburgh, PA. Not only does he author and keep a very informative blog on his site, but the information is specific and topical - of use to a wide variety of individuals and companies, from Buyers, Sellers, and Investors to professional agents and service providers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;One such posting was dealing with fixtures and inclusions. If you haven't had this come up in one of your contracts, consider yourself fortunate. It's not a matter of 'if', but rather a matter of 'when'.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Seasoned agents know that all items should be marked and noted in the contract - a step further is to 'tag' them as this agent recommends to further clarify their status.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Ok I'm curious to learn here - what are the 'Best' blog widgets out there?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I'm not talking about the add-ons to the frames, sides, etc. of web pages on your 'blog' (like AR) - but rather the stuff you can actually place into a Blog Posting.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Traffic trackers, sharing tools, etc. that you can add via HTML or otherwise to help track, tag, share, store, reference, and otherwise expand your posting audience and subsequent results.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;thoughts? Ideas? Faves?&lt;/p&gt;

    <title>Is Listing Data Integrity Important - a property data syndication discussion for real estate professionals</title>

&lt;div&gt;&lt;p&gt;I recently responded to a question from an agent regarding an ongoing (8+ months!) data integrity / accuracy issue with a National Portal Company (no names will be mentioned here). This information is good and can help all of us to better understand and deal with listing data challenges that we inevitably will face from time to time.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Enjoy! -TM&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="center"&gt;&amp;nbsp;**********&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Data integrity is a key and critical component to the real estate industry as a whole. On the &amp;#39;web&amp;#39; or portal side of the equation, often we are &amp;#39;at the mercy&amp;#39; of the data that comes in to us. That&amp;#39;s not an excuse, just a reality; something we deal with on a daily (dare I say hourly?) basis. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Here is my advice. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;1) Give Clear and Accurate Info to the &amp;#39;techies&amp;#39;.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt; Provide Clear, concise, and specific details regarding the error(s).&lt;br /&gt; For example, rather than &amp;quot;..my listing on Jones Ave. has the wrong price on it&amp;quot; share the details in full: My Residential listing 22 Jones Ave., Englewood Heights, NJ 55555 should be priced at $259,900 and is showing up on your site/in your system priced at $2,590,000. Here is the listing URL: (http://specific example here.com)&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;2) Remember who your enemies are - and aren&amp;#39;t.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt; Most data vendors and portals really want to get it &amp;#39;right&amp;#39; - it&amp;#39;s a battle for them, and they are (for the most part) passionate about it otherwise they wouldn&amp;#39;t be in business very long. Don&amp;#39;t immediately alienate them - find out who to speak with and build a relationship with that contact person. This can carry your voice longer and farther than emails and voice mails alone. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;3) Rally the troops.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt; A &amp;#39;lone voice&amp;#39; crying out in the wilderness doesn&amp;#39;t get the same focus and attention as a group of customers banding together to share a common concern. For example, your listing on Jones Ave. (example above) gets less attention than a list of multiple properties, from different brokers/agents, all showing similar (or dissimilar for that matter) issues. In fact, it&amp;#39;s often easier to isolate the issue given more examples. Databases and code can be tricky that way. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;4) Remain objective.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt; Remember to remain professional and objective and realize that there are 2 driving forces behind data accuracy/inaccuracy: Technology and Policy.&lt;br /&gt; If the technology is faulty, this can be fixed. If there is a difference in policy (for example, between an electronic flyer/syndication service and a local board/MLS) that is quite different. Technology issues are cut and dry, and addressable - policy differences are open to interpretation, understanding, levels of compliance and responsibility, and just plain willingness to &amp;#39;listen&amp;#39; and serve the parties involved. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;I trust this helps a bit. 8 months sounds like an awful long time in your example. &lt;p&gt;Has anyone had any measurable response to the Active rain &amp;#39;Ads&amp;#39; or &amp;#39;sponsored&amp;#39; position ads on the right side of the pages here in Active Rain?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;m curious to hear about metrics from anyone advertising on Active Rain, specifically: &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;* Traffic generated (clicks) over time - weekly, monthly, yearly&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;* Impressions: if impressions (CPM) are tracked, what are you seeing, and what impact has changing the location / placement had on your results?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;* CPA - or acquired business / orders / lead conversion. How many of the clicks have become orders or customers/users for you?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Thanks so much if you have any input on this. I haven&amp;#39;t seen nor heard much about this and am looking for more information on advertising to real estate agents, brokers, service providers and consumers via Active Rain website and blog pages, including Localism. &lt;p&gt;There is a lot of commentary flying around the net these days about blogging: good, bad, or indifferent. I was asked recently in an interview about the need for blogging by industry professionals - here are some excerpts from my response: &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;quot;Blogging is key, and I would group that with forums as well.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;There are many tools for today&amp;rsquo;s agent and broker to utilize to get the word out regarding their specialties, unique value propositions, and key marketing points of differentiation.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Blogs and forum participation can significantly elevate the rankings, reach, and exposure of the participant, while at the same time adding credibility and a &amp;lsquo;history&amp;rsquo; expertise that would be otherwise non-existent, particularly with many of the static web pages so commonly found today.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;As far as the comment on budgetary concerns, it&amp;rsquo;s a complete &amp;lsquo;no-brainer&amp;rsquo; to move toward this and other web 2.0 strategies for this space - the costs are little to none and the returns can be outstanding.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Tim Mancuso - Director Global Sales&lt;br /&gt;MyREALTY.com, Inc.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Home of the GLS - the Global Listing Service (International Real Estate)&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;    </content>

   &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;u&gt;Noteworthy statistics:&lt;/u&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;   &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;1/3 of the world&amp;rsquo;s wealth is invested in real estate&lt;/p&gt;   &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;With the U.S. dollar feeling pressure, more foreign investors are buying real estate in the United States&lt;/p&gt;   &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Online ad spend doubles in five years:&lt;/strong&gt; According to the Yankee Group, the U.S. online ad market will hit $50.3 billion in revenue by 2011 - more than double 2007&amp;rsquo;s revenue. The underlying reasons for this rosy picture rests on the disparity between current media usage and spending by marketers. The web claims roughly 20% of overall media consumption in the U.S. right now - but advertisers currently invest only 7.5% of their budget online. The gap will start to be bridged by 2011, when Yankee predicts that online will comprise nearly 25% of all media consumption and 15% of the ad spend.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;strong&gt;Opportunity&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt; for online in the housing crisis&lt;/strong&gt;: Jupiter (Research) even finds a possible silver lining for internet real estate classifieds.
